Re: 2016 Brooklyn Nets - Now What?
Thoughts on going after JJ Reddick?
Supposedly, he's been working out at the Nets' Practice Facility this summer, since he purchased a spot in DUMBO last year.
I'm indifferent on it. Wouldn't mind going after him on a 3 year deal at $15 Mil per year but anything more than that, I'm good. We're already chucking 3s like crazy so why not add one of the best shooters in the league, plus on a team with no veteran leadership, he'd provide some of that.#RespectTheCultureComment

^Speaking of JJ Redick, per NetsDaily:
In a discussion of his free agency on his podcast, J.J. Redick said he was interested in the Nets, but once they made the trade for D’Angelo Russell, he realized there would be fewer minutes available and so he turned elsewhere. In the end, the 33-year-old shooting specialist signed a one-year $23 million deal with the 76ers.
In a report on Clutch Points, Victor Galvez notes that one member of the Redick household, his wife Chelsea, still liked the Nets over other competition. The Redicks bought a $4 million condo in Brooklyn two years ago, leading to speculation that the then-Clippers guard had interest in the home team ... and he did.
“The one team for Chelsea was the Nets. I was certainly interested in the Nets. I love what they’re building there… But once they were kind of off the table, it created a little bit of chaos,” Redick said on his podcast.
According to various reports, the Nets, Knicks and Rockets were all interested in securing his rights early on in free agency. Like the Nets, signing with the Rockets meant he would play fewer minutes. The 76ers were reportedly late to the game, but the prospect of starting in Philly won the day.
As Galvez writes, his one-year, $23 million deal was more than what many projected as his market value. The Nets interest in Redick extended beyond the court. They saw him as a veteran presence, a character pick-up.
Obviously it doesn't mean much since they still didn't come but prior to that when Hollins/King were here, we barely had our own players speak glowingly about the team but since Marks got here, that's all we've gotten now and that's huge for a franchise that basically digging out of a hole it created just to start building the foundation of the actual team.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 07-20-2017, 10:23 AM.#RespectTheCultureComment

It might not happen for a few years but I think one big free agent is gonna say screw it and sign with the Nets. The culture change has been massive for the teams identity

Looking at what Marks inherited when he got here and seeing what he's done with that so far is amazing.
