I agree. I don't like signing older guys, but I think it'd be a good move and worth the risk since the PG market is thin.

In that case I’ll take the one that doesn’t see one of my all time favorite players screaming in agony in a Knicks jersey lol.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

I think there’s a better chance of Portland blowing it up and trading Dame rather than CP3 signing elsewhere.
I believe the proximity to his family and winning weighs more for him from everything I’ve heard.Comment

Re: The 2021 New York Knicks: Leon's Friends & Co.
I don’t see how we could land dame without trading trading basically every non-Randle asset we have. Obviously I’d love to get him but I’d pass on the price I think it would cost

I hope I’m wrong but I don’t believe in Randle and my fear with Thibs is that he’s good at squeezing every bit of juice out of the orange but in the NBA that’s just hustling backwards. I would sell high on Randle. Maybe that puts us back at square 0 but we’re only at 1 or 2 as it is IMO.
Would you guys have taken the Vucevic deal for Julius? 2 first rounders, Otto Porter expiring, and Wendell Carter Jr or maybe we could’ve gotten Coby. Unfortunately the only team I think is in that position (lottery team trying to turn around quickly) is GS and their picks are not going to be worth anything.
I actually didn’t realize how short Lavine’s deal is. If the Bulls flame out again and he leaves, how would we feel about:
Lonzo-Lavine-RJ-Julius-Mitch, IQ, Obi, + our picks?Last edited by DieHardYankee26; 06-05-2021, 10:58 AM.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: The 2021 New York Knicks: Leon's Friends & Co.
Why trade Randle for picks when we already have 2 first rounders. Then we’re back to being the worst team in the league again.
I don’t think we should get clouded from what we saw this year. Randle is not a 1st option on a winning team. You add to what we have. That’s why I’m all for giving him a non-max extension right now.
He’s a better Andrew Wiggins. Meaning you can get something out of him on the court. But we need a PG and an elite wing to go along with him.Comment

I don’t think he’s going to take that extension. So then what do you do?Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: The 2021 New York Knicks: Leon's Friends & Co.
He doesn’t have much leverage. Denis Shroeder turned down an $84M extension. Won’t see it again. John Collins as well.
There’s only so many teams that have space enough to pay him more. You think after bouncing around the league he’s gonna go to OKC or somewhere like that.Comment

Re: The 2021 New York Knicks: Leon's Friends & Co.
Wouldn’t shock me if both of those guys got paid, and he’s better than both of them. He has all the leverage IMO, he’s about to be named to an All NBA team and as you said without him we’re one of the worst teams in the league.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Congrats to Thibs on winning COTY. Very well deserved, he was the obvious choice though I thought Monty would win it."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Lonzo isn’t very good in the half court and Thibs isn’t going to want to play fast so I think he’s out, don’t think the Suns let CP3 walk, what do you guys wanna do? Kyle Lowry for 2 years?
Also on Mitch: decline the option so he can be restricted and we can match offers this off-season giving up cap, or save it and risk a resurgent season leading to unrestricted free agency?Last edited by DieHardYankee26; 06-24-2021, 09:02 AM.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: The 2021 New York Knicks: Leon's Friends & Co.
I don’t want Lowry. Injury prone and too inconsistent for my liking. But he seems like a Thibs guy. I don’t know how he’s fit into this offense.
I didn’t want Lonzo but now I think he’s the only option. I don’t trust his jumper at all. But he would create easy shots for others.
I’d give Mitch a take it or leave it deal a little above the MLE amount with a team option. He hasn’t proved that he can stay healthy nor has he proved that’s he’s a viable offensive option. Noel seemed like a huge upgrade for a stretch last year. I want Mitch to stay but not for big money. I’m not sure if he’s even a starter in this league because of his fouling.Comment
