How come everyone looks at Floyd past but doesn't look into Gatti's. Let's run it down real quick:

A nine-year-old outstanding warrant for suspicion of drunken driving in Arizona
At least two other drunken-driving arrests and one conviction for which his driver's license is revoked
An arrest but no conviction for assaulting a police officer
Sued by a Florida man who claimed Gatti hit him over the head hard enough to dislodge his hair-implant staples
Involved in an incident in which an exotic dancer claimed Gatti struck her for refusing sex after the fighter told Miami Beach police he had used cocaine

Yeah, and Gatti some saint who was fighting for all that is good. There both bad guys, FMJ is just a better fighter. Period.

I follow boxing pretty closely, & been following Gatti since 94. I never heard any of this.. Not in the newspaper.. Not on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights.. Not on HBO.. Not on ESPN. Where did you hear this from? It doesn't fit Gatti's personality one bit..Very low key. Quiet. Humble. Down to earth. Respectful. Are you sure this isn't Joe Gatti, Arturo's older brother?

I'm sure. That's why Floyd was mad that his domestic violence was brought up and focused on but they never said anything about Gatti's problems. They were trying to sell Good vs Evil.

They tried to hype the fight, because at it's heart it was a BIG mismatch.. I don't see Gatti as good or Floyd as bad.. I just think Floyd is a pompus arse..

If you've seen RJ at his finest, he's dancing and showing up fighters because his skills supercede that of his opponents. I think Floyd will grow on people like Roy Jones has...hand speed and God given ability have a way of making amenze for things.

I don't like any fighter that shows up another fighter.. Don't care if its Camacho. Hamed. Jones JR. Ali.. It's all about having class & respect for your opponent..

I taped the fight tonight, and rewatched when the fight was stop...and just unbelieveable...its not clear, and maybe im wrong, but what I heard was...

Buddy Mcgirt - "stop it...we're stoping it Arutro"

                Gatti - "just 1 more....1 more round...just 1 more..."

Buddy Mcgirt - "Your eye is closed, im sorry"

...class and respect which Floyd showed tonight in his post-fight comments. Mayweather was fighting in Gatti's hometown, he knew he had to play the bad guy and he did so up until the fight. After he ran through him, there was no mention of the "C+ fighter" and he gave immense credit to his opponent. He was just that much better than him tonight, pure & simple. No dancing, just pure domination, and you have to appreciate that if you like seeing skill fighters prove their worth.

On another side-note, I rewatched the whole, 1st round fiasco, and the referee when gatti and mayweather were kind of clinched, did scream stop punching, seconds before Mayweather leveled him twice. LOL also didnt notice Gatti shove the referee and say "thats f'n bs, and you know it" either. lol

also on a side note, anyone else notice Gatti almost crap his pants in the begining of his enterence when his pyro went off.

Funny thing about this whole fight is Gatti will still be a hboppv draw, and mayweather will probably be back on hbo boxing afterdark.

I don't know I think this was good enough to pull some fans just purely on his talent.

Only if he fights Hatton or Cotto.

                              Couple of notes:
Gatti has just as big of a rap sheet as FMJ. A tone of DWI arrests and bar fights that he even refrenced in the half hour special for the PPV on HBO. Its just that after the Ward fights everyone has stopped talking about that.

Mayweather hasnt been on Boxing After Dark in years and this was Gatti's first PPV fights since he fought De La Hoya years ago. All 3 Ward fights were on regular HBO and his last 3 fights With the exception of Tyson, one guy doesnt sell PPVs any more. Its matchups.
