He wasn't that good??? He is one of only two heavyweight fighters IN HISTORY to defeat every fighter he faced. He won a gold medal, was in his prime from the early 90's until retirement, and DUCKED NO ONE. He destroyed Bowe in the Olympics and Bowe threw the belts in the trash can rather than face Lennox again. Lennox then destroyed Golota in 90 seconds after Golota dominated Bowe twice. Foreman repeatedly said no thanks and had no interest in fighting Lennox. Tyson and King gave Lennox millions to go away in the early 90's because they knew he would destroy Tyson as a brand. Evander, as a true cruiserweight, only faced Lennox when he had to for a money fight. Lennox ducked no one and fought the best from the early 90's, the mid 90's, and the early 2000's when no one wanted to face him. He only hit the canvas twice in his entire career, and both times the shots would have ko'd a whale. And he was never on his back when the count was up. He was at his feet against McCall and it was stopped prematurely and Rahman he was half way up. Lennox's only faults were he was a Brit (which is responsible for most of the hatred towards him and lack of respect) and there were a few times in his career when he put on a display of the sweet science of boxing when he should have put a few of them to sleep a little faster. Lennox is an all-time great. Period.

I agree with most of that, but the losses to McCall and Rahman really tarnished his career. McCall is a nobody. Rahman is the best of the current crop, but nobody would mistake him for one of the best ever. Lewis showed his lack of concentration in both knockout losses.

Lennox Lewis deserves to be considered one of the best boxers in history, though in a very weak era in boxing.

I just count it as a lack of concentration. He was winning both fights and both punches were lethal. But, I guess you can say he was not as focused as he should have been in the manner that he disposed of both on the rematches. I think the era of Ali-Frazier-Foreman-Lyle etc. is the best era, with no other era coming close. But, Lewis' resume is and fought in a better era than Tyson (definitely) and Holmes. From 1978-1990, heavyweight boxing was by far at its worst.
