So, no one goes the10-12 round distance in career mode?
Non sim boxing fans don't have a problem with this, cause fighting games like tekken & DOA all end in KO..But being sim minded, It makes it a bit unrealistic..Do you guys use the stun punch & flash KO to get the majority of your KO's? Or just regular haymaker/punchers..I fight night 1 & 2, I never increase my power, to limit stoppages..Do you think limiting the rounds to 2 minutes & using the stun punches only when I'm losing the fight big will increase my chances of going the distance?Redskins Fan. If this game is like last years (Round 2), you will never go the distance. At least I didn't. I've played about 10 games so far and its been enough for me, I'm taking it back and putting it towards Oblivion. As for a sim, I don't know an awful lot about boxing but this game, in my opinion, resembles nothing close to a sim. -

Also, I think you will have to limit the number of flash KOs you use to make this game play realistic. The CPU doesnt throw them alot so neither should you.Comment

It wasn't in career mode but I fought a 12 rounder between Roy Jones & James Toney and it went to the cards for a split decision win. I was patient with Toney. However, when I flipped the over and played the same match as Jones then Toney didn't make it out of the 5th round.Comment

I don't ever think it was intended to be anything close to a sim. It's an arcade boxing game and should take up a different spot on the shelf from Title Bout Championship Boxing, which IS a sim. Totally different goal with the game design.Comment

As for the 12 round debate, its possible if you fight realistically. The thing is mot people are making every fight into a slugfest even with guys like Jones Jr who are boxers. If you fight more like their reallife counterparts, you will see more decisions.
If that doesnt work change the time to 2 min rounds.Comment

You will really need to have 2 minute rounds to get realistic punching stats and decisions based on what I have read. The original fight night allowed for 2 minute rounds in career, FN round 2 did not and it was nearly impossible to go to the cards.
Kudo said specifically in the developer interview that you can, but I fear you cannot. Please, please check this for me. I will hold off buying this until I hear for certain that option is in.

I went straight to online gaming. You will never get realistic results playing a computer..even with advanced computing you are bound to see repitition...but with human oponents the strategies are as varied as our personalities.
I fought a dude last night. I was Ali and he was Frazier. I got stung with his left hook throughout the fight and was in the KO moment like 5 different times but managed to hang on. I knocked him down several times throughout the fight...FINALLY..in the 9th round out of 10 rounds..Frazier could not get up..completely exciting and I was trying to manage a horrible cut that couldve had the fight stopped. Completely exciting and going 9 rounds toe to toe is about as close to going the distance as you will get..
Now also keep in mind that real life boxers pace themselves....video game boxers go for the knock out..punch like crazy which causes the boxer to tire and be more proan to getting Knocked the Phugg out!!

yeah stop throughing non stop haymakers and this game is great. i throw a lot of jabs and crosses. mix it up and beat down my opponent for the later rounds. lots of fun. it can play as a sim or arcade depending on what you want. that's what makes this game great. i throw and average of 2 haymakers a fight. i'm currently 17-2Last edited by jwired21; 02-22-2006, 07:14 PM.Comment
