Great round by the way...man that guy had NO DEFENSE at all.
It is just the standard shove that happens when someone tries to clinch you and you "block" it. You "block" clinches the same way you block punches.

With everyone trying to do bodywork bodywork bodywork this year don't forget your #1 friend - the uppercut! It is damned effective against people who like to get down low and try and overwork the body.

A good countermove to the uppercut when down low is the sway back and hook counter.

Remember that people like to do repeated combos. This is another area where parrying is beneficial. There's a lod of button users who get used to hitting their buttons in a certain order. Watch that combo and hold for a parry on their hardest shot. Say for instance, your opponent like to hook body left, hook body right, and uppercut head right. Get ready to parry that uppercut right, or even the hook body left. They will get very frusterated because you're taking them from their rhythm.

There's a lot of times where your opponent will get impatient and then try to special punch you, or haymaker you. While a lot of people cry about the haymaker, a majority don't realize that a parry'd haymaker is typically an automatic stun punch for you. What's even more sad, they'll attempt to do it again and again, and you can keep knocking them down again and again.

When parrying, don't try to parry each punch. Be set for a certain punch that your opponent likes to throw. It's easy to take one or two punches, parry, and then give them a nice 4 hit combo. Usually, your opponent will go for the same type of punch to start his next combo, so after your combo, simply get ready for that punch. I swear it feels like I'm playing the AI a lot lol.

Sometimes you'll see your opponenht get frusterated and he'll attempt to illegal blow you. I usually just let them as it doesn't always seem to that effective and will eventually just give you more points on the scorecard.

Don't always rush in toward your opponent. You'll find a lot of opponents that will walk back and sit there, waiting for you to rush in. They want you to play their game. However, when you play their same game, they'll get friustrated and will eventually come to you. If you know you are winning the round, then let them sit there, afterall, it's his duty to try and win the round himself, not yours.

There are some guys who like to rush in right at you. These guys are simply focused in laying big hurt combos. Sometimes a step back and a stun punch will surprise them, and should change their style real quick.

There are those guys who like to choose the most powerful boxer and use nothing but jab combos to win. Sadly, I have no idea on how to really stop these guys. It's actually pretty annoying. Just hope you can play his same game.

There are players who like to simply hold block toward their body and lean away. These are some really annoying folks, and this is where mind games come to play. It's not easy to block down, sway, and be ready for an offensive flourish. Give them a few jabs and back away. Eventually he'll have to come at you and that means he'll have to release the leaning trigger. There you can give him a few more jabs or maybe something a little more powerful. Be warned though, you'll probably play through the entire 10 rounds, but more than likely, you'll win.

I still can't stress this enough. When you play those folks who are haymaker happy, you should have a smile on your face. Learning how to parry is your best friend against these guys. Not just parry, but come back with a haymaker of your own. It will tick guys off, they may even say you're cheating, but it will be a quick win.

A lot of these "top dawgs" who are level 25 usually just play noobs with their created boxers. I can't stress this enough, but no regular boxer can really compete with a created boxer. Also, with created boxers, if you parry a haymaker, more than likely, you won't get one off on him. Created boxers have 100's in speed and agility. Heck, you'll barely be able to lay an uppercut. However, a lot of folks who use created boxers like to slugfest (ubnless they're one of those not top jabbers, then I don't know). Protect yourself, and eventually, they'll wear down, and you can go back to your normal style of play.

              Punish Clinchers.

I found a great use for the Illegal blows.

When faced with a clincher, Immediately after shoving them away when the clinch ends. Nail them with an illegal blow. They are completely open to it and it takes their health right back down to a sliver. Smack them a time or two and right back to KO moment. Each time they clinch they get less and less health back.
              Try it out.
