He can take a punch and seems to be strong.
I'd like to see him and hatton

Me too. That would be a good fight.

Mayweather is not even thinking about this guy. Floyd's getting ready for Mosley and De La Hoya which are "HUGE" paydays.

mark my words, baldomir will be avoided like the plague.

i have been telling people about him. he hasnt lost a fight since 98. he isnt fast or crafty, just a hard chin and workman like attitude.

no, it would not. Hatton got into trouble with collazo at least twice during their fight. baldomir would smother him, someone with good skill and technique is going to have to fight baldomir. two guys that could beat baldomir are collazo and mayweather. paul williams could with his hand speed and height. but hatton would lose.

Gatti's problem is that he is what he is; a brawler. This guy will not be beat by a bralwer. He has the chin and the stamina to trade. A slick skill boxer will have to take him out. Someone who can box for 12 rounds and not in short spurts.

Gatti did not jab enough, nor did he ever simply circle away from Baldomir's right hand (ala Spinks vs Kamarzan a few weeks ago). When you are over matched in strength, you fight smart. Gatti can do it, but he only does it for a short minute., then its back to brawling. The last time I saw Gatti jab consistently was against Jese Leja.

If you have not seen this fight, PM for a link.

Like I said, he needs to say bye bye to McGirt IMO.

Wow I was way off. I was expecting Gatti to be a lot stronger than he was. Huge props to Baldomir. Great performance and im looking forward to some of his next fights. He won my respect.

it was so shocking when he went down, and you knew it was over...it took the life out of the entire arena

ok I was wrong in my prediction in the fight, but lets no go overboard with Baldomir here, as ive said with Mayweather beating Judah and Gatti doesnt impress me that much because both are pretty much C+ or B- fighters.

Gatti and Judah are both B level, although I feel Judah has shown A level skill at times. (see Spinks vs Judah 2). I knew folks would start to denounce Gatti as soon as he lost to Baldomir. I feel the same thing will happen if PBF takes on Margarito.

Baldomir is like a jack of all trades. He is like the main character of an RPG game; not great at one thing but damn good at everything. The only area that he excels is his chin. He really has no defense, but his chin is rock solid. He took blows from well known punchers and kept comming.

I agree with denouncing Margarito if he lost to Mayweather, thats expcted since Margarito hasnt beat anyone noteable yet. Im nto on the margarito bandwagon and dont think hes all that great, but with Gatti you know hes always done well against ordinary fighters, but just never was on the right level during mega fights. Plus Baldimir was much bigger than Gatti. Im taking nothing away from Baldimir, but id love to see him fight Hatton or Cotto next.

This was a great fight, one of the Best matches i've actually watched in a long time. Dont watch to much boxing so that could be why.

I was rooting for Gatti but I could tell before the fight started he had no chance pretty much, He just didnt have the size and he just looked to small to even hurt Baldomir.
