Man, missed that one myself. But to correct some who posted thus far, this was Gatti's second fight at 147 so he's 1-1. Don't think PBF's style would be a good matchup for Baldomir because he is a boxer with lightening speed, but well see what PBF does since it looks like Mosely wants no parts of him now and I don't think Margarito is worth it...

I was rooting for Gatti but I could tell before the fight started he had no chance pretty much, He just didnt have the size and he just looked to small to even hurt Baldomir.
Size doesnt matter, look at Hatton. He is almost always the smallest of the two fighters, but finds a way to win. There were moments when Gatti boxed well and caught Baldomir comnig in. But he did not sustain it.

For those interested, Cotto has stated he would fight Baldomir. It was in a Puerto Rican paper.

Baldy is going to fight Floyd. Floyd wants the Ring belt and is scared of Margarito and Baldy wants another big payday. I can see him getting at least 3 mil if he fights Floyd.

Mosley wants to fight him. Just not in 2006. Floyd is clearly afraid of Margarito seeing that he would make his biggest payday by fighting him.

I would like to see Floyd take him, but not just yet. I would like one of the other guys at 147 (Hatton, Cotto if he moves up, Margarito, even Collazo). I see Floyd taking a fight with Spinks first in tune up for his move to 154 for De La Hoya.

I dont think afraid is the right word. A win against Margarito does nothing for him, and an injury against him may harm his chances at the golden goose DLH. Mosley or Spinks are safe options. If the Floyd takes down one of the most popular fighters of our time in DLH, his fame skyrockets and puts $$ in his pockets as far as endoresements, future PPVs etc. A win against Margarito gets him $8M and a "ho-hum" from boxing purist.

Floyd is thinking long term and I dont blame him. He is one of the few boxers that has options.
