Any good boxing games for the 360 out/on the way?
Hey guys, I haven't played Fight Night yet, so if you all would recommend it, I may end up picking that up. But is there any more boxing games on the horizon? I thought that VC was coming out with a boxing title? Is there any truth to it?Twitter - WTF_OS

It all depends on what you are looking for.
If you are a true boxing hardcore fan, Fight Night will make you want to jump out the window. From the gameplay to the career mode to the roster, it is laughable at best.
If you love Street Fighter and fighting games, then Fight Night is probably up your alley.Comment

The career mode is weak but online and the in ring action is pretty good. There are some things they can improve but its worth at least a rental.Comment

I dont understand the beef people have with the super punches. Sure they suck, but you can see them coming from a mile away so they are pretty easy to block.Comment

If you pressed the directional stick in a certain way and completed a pass and it resulted in an immediate touchdown everytime in Madden, it would be ridiculous. And this is the Fight Night equivalent.Comment

Originally posted by thelwig14I agree, and I also could avoid Sub Zero's freeze shot thingy he did. But that is not the point. That stuff should not be in a boxing game.

Originally posted by aholbert32Thats a horrible comparison. The KO punches only lead to a KO if you land them...which isnt easy to do. Its not like you can just press the directional stick one way and it will work every time. There are ways to avoid it and if the person doesnt land it...it puts him at a huge disadvantage. Again, its a good boxing game with some flaws.Comment

Re: Any good boxing games for the 360 out/on the way?
And the parry adds an important component of the realism of Fight Night. The parry, as interpreted by kudo, has never happended once in the history of boxing (not even close). If you are good at Fight Night, however, you can pull it off at least 20 times in a round. Fight Night is a fighting game, not boxing, using a small amount of real fighters (most of them just the same fighter with different versions of himself in many weight classes).Comment

Re: Any good boxing games for the 360 out/on the way?
The clinching mechanisim is so unreal it's sickening. There is absolutely ZERO fighting on the inside, everything is from a distance, there is no way to get under an opponent's chin and fight in the trenches. If i am fighting a Mexican, Puerto Rican, Ukranian, or Phillipino boxer, then why oh why is his trainer speaking english? The corner scenes are entertaining for about...say....3 rounds, after that the trainer repeats himself more than Madden does on his game. This game is only considered good by some because there is NO other boxing game out there. There isn't even name recognition in the damn game engine. As a sim, It's whack. I wish 2K or Midway would take a stab at it.Dios mio, por favor dame paciencia con estos jugadores que aceptan productos "glitchy"Comment
