I honestly belive he deserves to be in the conversation. I put him ahead of Sugar Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns. At a catch weight of 150 or so, I think he gives Hagler an L too.

I want to see what arguments you guys can come up with.

Hearns would abuse him at 147..Redskins Fan. The 82 Smurfs will never die. 83/88/92 NFL world champions!!

The Hit Man would of snapped his head off at 147. In fact Floyd probably would have ducked him. Don't get to fired up over Floyd's victories of an aged Oscar and a blown up overrated welter in Hatton.Comment

Re: Why isn't Floyd in the GOAT conversation?
Are you saying that Floyd could not outbox Hagler for 7 of 12 rounds and get a decision? I am not saying that Floyd dominates him, but he could work the ring for 12 rounds and get a decision. I put the catch weight cause Hagler fought his whole career at middle.Follow me on Twitter - http://twitter.com/complex219Comment

Re: Why isn't Floyd in the GOAT conversation?
Mayweather is the Truth. No matter who he beats, there will always be some excuse about the other fighter. With that being said, I do not see him beating a prime Sugar Ray Leonard. With the exception of losing a very close decision against an all time great (Duran) after he abandoned his gameplan, his only losses occurred when he was well past his prime. Besides, SRL already beat Sr. LOLComment

Re: Why isn't Floyd in the GOAT conversation?
I'd say his prime was between 2001-2002.
This is when he ran through
Chico
Carlos Hernandez
Jesus Chavez
Castillo twice
Then he started to move up and didn't really fight anyone good (other than good names)at 140-147. Good to see him get paid for being the best, but I wish he would have stayed at 135, where he could still punch with some power.Comment

Re: Why isn't Floyd in the GOAT conversation?
Ummmm, Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, and Duran would all beat Mayweather.
Unfortunately until PBF steps out of his comfort zone and truly faces a stern test from a real fighter in their natural weight class, he will never achieve mention of GOAT status. He will just only be great.Comment

RJJ had the same issue for years he killed his opposition and made it look easy. Its not because the talent he faced was awful, its because he as that good.
Floyd is that good, and not because he is some super human freak of nature. It is that I have not seen a fighter in my lifetime that prepares for a fight like him. He talks big, which I think is a front, but he prepares twice as hard as the next guy.
Boxing is a sport where speed kills and the basics will keep you in the fight. Floyd has mastered the basics. He parrys for the whole fight, he jabs for the whole fight, he moves for the whole fight, he stays in position to counter all the time. He doenst take many flush shots. He is an excellent fighter, make no mistake.Follow me on Twitter - http://twitter.com/complex219Comment
