40 boxers total....I can work with that. If this has a great CAB feature I'm sold.

Nice, says you can create a gym and spar up to 8 of your created boxers. This sounds pretty good.

Hopefully we will be able to line the rankings with created boxers. It would be nice too if you could have multiple fighters in the same career. But given that this is told by story mode, I would doubt that will happen. I would love to have a stable of boxers and line up fights and hit on the managing side as well.

I hope this story mode isn't cheezy. I hope it plays out like a real career.

Yeah I kinda fear that story/career mode will be cheesy. It seems like there might be too much of a focus on stuff that goes on outside the ring. There was a line in the article that said the goal wasn't to create a perfect fighting game...I hope the gameplay doesn't turn out to be arcade like. I've been waiting a while for a very realistic boxing game. Last thought, I've also been waiting a while for boxing games to incorporate different governing bodies and allow for real unification bouts, not that BS unification of two and three weight classes.

I like what I here so far. I like the commentators as well. I'm glad 2k got real guys in the game.

I only need a few things and I'll be happy. Great in ring AI and experience, decent career mode (I'll cut the slack on this because its their first year), deep CAB and a deep roster. They are 1 out of 4 so far. 40 boxers is a solid number. That means we have 26 active boxers left to figure out.

Lampley is the best at what he does...awesome.

the best would be going to letterman's score card...

"OK JIM, 112-116 ____!...I gotta tell ya somethin Jim..." wonderful

I wouldn't count it out, he is part of the HBO broadcast team. Maybe that means Lennox Lewis is in the game. Was he a Don King fighter? I wasn't privy to promoters then.

p.s. thanks Art for pointing that out to me. I shouldn't have undermined 2K's quest for realism.

I have a feeling that 2K will take "energy depletion" into account. Interesting to see if they treat the cross as a power punch or a slightly slower, slightly more powerful jab.

Lennox was heavily courted by King many times, but Lennox has standards and only worked with him when he had to...

I think you may have misread what I wrote, sorry, I kind of wrote it weird. Thanks thelwig for that..so maybe it's 65/35% he won't be in the game.

I hope I interpret this right when I say that you are referring to FN3 and how the cross was a rather in effective punch and that you prefer the former to the latter. I sure hated it when I would land a cross square on the chin about 5 times a round per fight in Fight Night.
