Re: Anyone get prizefighter yet?
3 things I'd like to know...
How many CAB slots? Fighting styles can you tell the difference between the styles when the cpu is fighting? Slugfest/arcade or boxing sim? If anyone can answer those questions, I would appreciate it, Thanks.Comment

Re: Anyone get prizefighter yet?
only got in a few exhibition matches. Can't say either right now. Controls do feel a little sluggish so far. Of course I am still learning them so....... I do know that if you don't block punches you will get beat bad. I felt like I was having to box. You can choose your round limit in exhibition (not sure about career). 1,2 or 3 minute rounds. Pick the number of rounds too. I won't know more until tonight when I can play some more.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: Anyone get prizefighter yet?
I have been reading on the 2k site about the game. One guy is getting mad because he trying to play the game like FN3 and isn't being able to move very fast due to him losing stamina by button mashing.
So, it seems that you have to actually box in this game to survive. Also, he said he almost got KO'd in the first round
Another thing I think different boxers move faster than other boxers. Try double-tapping the L-stick.Last edited by Jon22; 06-10-2008, 12:22 PM.Comment

He admits that maybe he's still getting used to the controls, but from what he's seen early on, every CPU boxer fights the same way and it's very hard to tell if they're going to the body or head - hence his inability to block properly.
And it seems that he's getting very upset with the lack of footspeed. He's taking some quick footed fighters and it still feels like he's moving in cement.
I haven't played the game yet so I'm not going to trash it. But I really hope the gameplay didn't take a backseat so they could put all their efforts into the story-mode.Comment

Re: Anyone get prizefighter yet?
With people comparing this game to FN3, as an ex-boxer FN3 was far from reality. There is going to be a learning curve from the way you where playing FN3. That new video from gametrailors I believe from yesterday the boxers moved pretty well.Last edited by Jon22; 06-10-2008, 12:43 PM.Comment

Re: Anyone get prizefighter yet?
Hey guys- CUFREEZE is me.
Yes I am on a steep learning curve i think. I am not trying to button mash like Ron said in there. I am tryng to box sim. Hard to do because 1. I suck badly lol 2. footspeed is very slow it seems 3. CPU fights with lots of special punches and the side step punches.
I would Rent it first. I am by no means saying the game sucks...I just am not adapting very well i guess and I do not see SIM in the CPUs styles.Comment

Re: Anyone get prizefighter yet?
How is the Jab? Are you able to keep the guy at bay with it? Try this if your doing bad. Use the jab more, move to the left(away from the right hand), when your inside or close throw 3-5 punchs, then move to regain stamina, and keep trying this. Let me know if this worksLast edited by Jon22; 06-10-2008, 12:54 PM.Comment

Even if a fighter lands every power-punch he throws, he's still going to get gassed if he throws a lot of them. I hope PF translates that properly.Comment

Re: Anyone get prizefighter yet?
Freeze, someone mentions that over at the 2KForums you said that a punch nailed you which flung you 1/2 way across the ring. Was this early in the fight or later rounds?Comment
