Some things that are very helpful for people struggling:

Don't forget to clinch, it is crucial if you need it. And don't wait until you are about to go down. Click both sticks. And then power up with a repeatedly.

Combine your defense with blocking with the right stick as well as leaning with the left trigger. Using both is key.

And most importantly, break the other fighter down with jabs at the beginning. Fight like a real fighter. Don't do lead right hands or anything that leaves you exposed at the beginning until you break him down properly. When you block a computer shot, immediately counter it with your lead hand. A few of these will affect him greatly.

And in your career, listen to your corner. The advice they tell you on how to beat each fighter is helpful.

Doesn't really how sim some of you think it may be.

If you can't freely "stick" your jab because of sluggish controls, that is as un-sim, if you will, a boxing game can possibly be.

I am just not having any of those problems. I am getting off my jab and the only time I can't, is because I am recovering from a blow I received or it gets blocked.

havent played it yet, still deciding on whether to get it...the 5 rating that IGN gave it does nothin to judge my decision...the guy who rated it probably knows nothing about boxing and was comparing it to FN3 the whole time he was playing it....from reading all the impressions it seems like the people that want to stand there n slug it out and have every match end by the 3rd round hate this game but ive seen many people say that true boxing fans will love this.....from reading the impressions it kind of reminds me of Evander Holyfield Boxing for the Sega Genesis...lol I loved that game cuz it was slower paced and you had to work the body to get them to tire out and almost ever match went deep in the rounds.....not sure if any of you guys ever played that one but I really enjoyed it when i was younger

Some questions for people who have the game, please help with these as I am sure many of us are not sure if we should buy the game or not until these are explained a bit more and confirmed.

              (1) Is there a CPU vs CPU mode? can you watch a fight?

              (2) How many Boxers can you create outside of career mode?

              (3) can you edit the default boxers in any way?

              (4) How detailed is the create a boxer mode?

on a scale of 1 to 10 how sim is this game?

              Thank you

                No
Very...more detailed than FN and more equipment.

Its very realistic but maybe too realistic imo.

do they have a decent name recognition with the announcers? or do they just use the nickname thing like FN did? like for example if I made a Mike Tyson would they say his last name? or do you pick a corny premade nickname and they say that??

Alot of his negatives in the IGN review are spot on though. Collision detection needs to be much better for instance.

The jump rope, and speed bag are the only ones that are that have a from of matching icons. They both are patterns though not just random icons. It gives you a rhythm for the task at hand.

I think it was 5 for story mode, 8 for online, and then how many ever you want in fighter factory.

someone posted this on the 2k board, can you confirm this in game?
