Tried 12 one minute rounds using Pavlik against Calazzo(online opponent). Of the first 11 rounds 6 of them were scored a draw, 4 went to me and one to Collaza. In the 12th the referee stopped the fight when Collaza went down.

Me and another 2k mod are trying to see if we can post a ideas for a patch thread within reason on this forum and on their forum. I just wonder if the people that run this place would let me post a thread so i can take the ideas and what not to the 2k guys. We have to wait until Ronnie gives us the ok and what not.

Just create a patch suggestions thread or I think that someone also already started that hopefully a mod could sticky.

Well then on the fight that I lost despit it being a majority draw, did one judge give the other fighter a 10-9 win to a round when the others had it 10-10.

The cards read 96-95 96-96 96-96 and they gave the other boxer trhe win. Should have been a majority draw. So why was the one round scored 10-9 by only one judge.

The scoring system in this game is just bad.

Yeah ever now and then there will be a dissenting judge on a drawn round, and usually for no good reason.

I have played about 5 fights, 2 online, and I am very impressed with this game. at first I had to adjust, but this is a sim and in the direction of what we have been waiting for, a true boxing sim. I changed my settings before I started a career to 15 rds and 3 mins. The 3 mins didn't catch on but the rds are 15 in my career. I am enjoying the slow dileberate base of the game. I still have FN rd 3 and plan on getting 4, but this in comparison is sim vs arcade. I am enjoying the purchase.

What is your round number/length of rounds online?

This game is cool but it's not really a sim. How is it that in the 12th round the boxers are still throwing alot of punches and they dont look a bit tired. Also what's up with the computer getting knock down 7 times in order for u to win??? I also notice the power being at 100% after 5 rounds of brutal punches to ur opponent online??? This game has some sim to it but i dont consider this game sim. FN being arcade has their fighters look tired and slugist after 7+ rounds. Another thing i dont understand is how is it 2k got the MAN Jim Lampey and only have him say 2-3 words per round?? Do they not see this??
NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.

It is the most strategy oriented boxing title I have played, at least online, but the few knockdown/knockout issues, which neutralize fighters with power, and the punches landed scoring system which don't reward you for hurting your opponent or landing the heavier blows prevent it from being called a great sim.

To be fair they said it wouldnt be 100 percent sim. They said to do that would turn alot of people off, so they had to add some arcade elements to it. Which is very true. I cant blame them for that. It is a video game after all.

Like i have said, they have a pretty good foundation imo, it just need more polish and give you freedom to do other things as well. What i cant understand is why there is no lobby.

I noticed Ivan Kirpa is a good little fighter in this game. If you can work him inside he has the stamina and staying power to hurt other fighters.

                            Re: Anyone get prizefighter yet?

Well, I finally made it all the way through career mode on medium difficulty. I finished 35-8-1 with 26 KO's. The game hit a hard stretch in the middle, but I actually coasted at the end. Scoring KO after KO. I did finally score a first round KO with an overhand right that ended the fight after 87 seconds. I was shocked, he went down and stayed down, it was the only knockdown.

I pummeled the final guy with 4 knockdowns and eventually won on points 100-89, 100-90, 100-90. Never losing a round. Don't know why a championship only lasted 10 rounds, but there are a lot of little things wrong in this game. Alot of stuttering commentary down the stretch too.

Overall I enjoyed the game. I guess I'll try online now. I still don't find the create a boxer to even be as good as FN round 2. Not nearly enough hair styles or facial feature possibilities.

Would have loved to have an open career on this game.

This kind of oversight just boggles the mind. It is such a great game, but how can a championship match not be 12 rounds, or 15 rounds if you want to? Exhibition mode is great, and I'm sure it is great once you unlock all the legends and the venues. So how is Larry Holmes and Kenny Norton? They are both unlocked through career mode right?

Yeah, you unlock them pretty late. The funny thing is, I don't think you unlock Joe Louis even though you fight with him a few times.

If they make a Prizefighter 2, they definitely need to research boxing rules. 2 judges score a draw, they still give a decision. 10 Round championship fights, should be 12.

I'm going to go back through on the hardest difficulty and fight everybody I can. I'll probably use a short inside slugger this time because my first time through on Medium difficulty, I used a Wlad tall boxer and stayed on the outside and pounded the jab.

I hope they make a game with a robust open career mode down the road, but I have a strange feeling we've seen the last of Prizefighter. When I go into the training modes, it appears that less than 15,000 people have tried any of the given training modes. Maybe some people haven't tried career mode, but I would guess that sales of this game are less than 25,000 units right now.
