If they make a Prizefighter 2, they definitely need to research boxing rules. 2 judges score a draw, they still give a decision. 10 Round championship fights, should be 12.

I'm going to go back through on the hardest difficulty and fight everybody I can. I'll probably use a short inside slugger this time because my first time through on Medium difficulty, I used a Wlad tall boxer and stayed on the outside and pounded the jab.

I hope they make a game with a robust open career mode down the road, but I have a strange feeling we've seen the last of Prizefighter. When I go into the training modes, it appears that less than 15,000 people have tried any of the given training modes. Maybe some people haven't tried career mode, but I would guess that sales of this game are less than 25,000 units right now.
Ouch! if this only sold 25,000.....but consider that there might be a few thousand out there that don't have live, so the numbers could be off a little bit.

If we see the cancellation of any of the other platforms than we can expect this series dead in the water. They have some nice mechanics here, it just needs to be fleshed and tightened up more. While the documentary career is cool, like you said, there is no real reason to go through it again once you beat the game.

Yeah, well most of the training games only have 12,000 people on the ladder. So I would say if they sold any more than 30,000, I'd be shocked. I would have to imagine that 1/2 of the people who bought this game have live and and most of those people should have at least tried career mode.

I think if they would have pushed this title back, maybe after Madden, a lot of the issues could have been fixed. I don't put any weight into reviews because only I can decide whether or not I like the game, but the low review scores had to turn off many potential buyers.

I agree, with a few more months of development PF could have really used the extra time. I like to read reviews to get an idea, but since they are others opinions I take them at face value. I think I will hold on to this game till FN4 comes out and then see what I do with it if FN4 is any good or bad.

Prizefighter sold close to 42,000 copies in the first week, and they're making another marketing push now. So, that's not too shabby.

I don't have any sympathy for their sales. If 2k had any business sense, which they have little, you would emphasize your marketing blitz on the roster. People need to be informed you can use Pavlik, Calzaghe, Peter, Holmes, etc...Their roster blows away FN 3.

Take Two has always had an issue with advertising/marketing and it continues here. The problem with this game is attaching Don King's name. Probably one of the greatest promoters across all sports, but he is also known as a crooked promoter amongst sports fans eyes. Why place someone controversial like him as your cover and even title of the game? It doesn't help and they should have gone with a boxing legend that everyone knows to help push this title.

The only way it made sense to 2k was that King probably raped all his fighters and got them on the cheap for the roster. They then just went to Frank Warren (Calzaghe, Enzo, etc.) and then just got Pavlik and a few others.

But for them not to pimp Pavlik and Calzaghe and such across both continents is just bad, bad business.

I have to agree. I was shocked that 2k didnt advertise the game during the Calzaghe or Pavlik fights. ****, they should advertise during this week's Berto fight.
