im so mad at wink right now...the only problem with wink through out his whole career is that he has a soft HEART (that's how hopkins beat him). This MOFO wink lets people keep hitting him on the hold while he does nothing....he PLAYS TO DAME CLEAN....paul won, but i aint convinced..i aint into volume.

    edit:
    nice guys finish last...always.

You really think he could beat Williams without a few of those dirty shots on the holds? I'm sorry but even if you gave Winky 3 arms tonight he probably wouldn't have won.

Winky's a great fighter, but he's clearly on the steep decline.

        Winky

        - Since his 2 years absence he has gotten up to about 190 lbs, lot of weight lost to get to 160 saps the body.

        - Hasn't had a fight in 2 years

        - Age 37 I think

        - Foot work is bad now

        - No power

        + Experience

+ Excellent defense, one off the best

+ Nice jab, he keeps it coming

        Paul Williams

        - No defense, his offense is his defense

        - Doesn't fight like he is 6'2

+ Decent power, he'll knock you out if he lands to many

+ Good stamina, can go the distance

        + Nice chin

This fight is going the distance, Winky defense is too good, so it's going to be hard for Paul to get through his shell defense, Winky only has a jab.

I'm on the fence but I'm going with Paul by decision
I'm haven't missed on who will win, not to brag.

This fight wasn't that hard to call though. Any reasonable boxing fan knew or should've known that Willilams was going to win.

Winky is certainly showing his age. I'm not sure if he can get Sugar Shane now.

Nah, don't believe that. This is the one sport that one punch can change the dynamics of a fight. One wrong move, one off night, one second off can change everything. Williams, who I do like, makes a lot of mistakes during a fight. As old and slow as Winky looked he landed many flush shots on this kid.

I think that was Paul's best performance of his career..eventhough it looked like Winky was trying to fight on stilts...lol...its like Winky didn't have good balance from Rd. 2 on. Paul looked like he punched harder than he usually does instead of one hard shot and the rest of the combo are slaps. But he still has to keep his opponents from getting inside because Winky rocked him a couple of times.

                P.S. Winky's woman is nice

You are correct and if Winky was a puncher with more power I wouldn't have made such a statement. Winky doens't have the KO power and it would've taken a perfec combination of the things that you mentioned for him to finish Williams off IMO.

I wasn't trying to say that there was no way that Winky could win, just saying that reasonable fans going in had to know that this was going to be a hard fight for him to pull off.

Winky didn't have a chance in this fight because of his age and diminished skills. You have to be willing to take a lot of punishment to get inside Paul to land enough clean shots or time his punches perfectly from the outside to beat him. If you saw the first Carlos Quintana/ Paul Williams fight you know what I'm talking about.

A defensive guy with no punching power going against 1000 punches in bunches...Winky needed the perfect storm to win

Now what scare me for Paul is that ....how do you throw 1,000 punches and at no point have your opponent hurt?

Pretty much the same thing as Calzaghe vs. Hopkins. I thought Winky might pull this one out, but He has just aged too much.

I think that might be a testament to Winky's defensive acumen. He is a great defensive fighter, rolls with punches well and is tough to hurt. I think that is a credit to him and his ability to not take the big punches.

Willians will eventually catch a boxer with average defense with either an uppercuts or the double right hook.

I wouldn't be concerned that he didn't hurt Winky. Few Have. I was more impressed with his gameplan and the guys stamina is through the roof. He could have gone another 5 to 10 rounds still averaging 100 punches.

I don't see Williams gettinmg beat for the next 4 years or so.
