    Re: Community Event Updates

I swear in any other situation like this I would be screaming bull****. Ive been to events similar to this and know that because of all the flash (meeting athletes, free meals, meeting the devs) people can get distracted and not really get into the meat of the game. I went to an event like this for MLB2k6 and walked out thinking that game was great but when I got the retail copy it sucked.

So I was glad to see that EA invited unbiased hardcore fans like Money, Complex and Shawn (of 5WG formerly of OS) and that they all are raving about this game. Every year I'm rushing to get NCAA because I have no other games to play but I think UFC and FN4 will keep me busy during the summer.

Out of all the information we gathered, this is the area I'm very excited about. I even got some tidbits on the direction the development team wants to progress Legacy Mode. VERY cool stuff.

I really liked FN R3, but that crap is just stupid.....Ooh my trunks are silver instead of white and oh yeah I get 10+ hit power with them

If I want to change the color of my trunks, I shouldn't have to freaking worry about any Rating Drops...

To go a step further it would be sweet if they had something like Forza does with their paint schemes editor
All I can say at this time is that the developers were even making fun of all this stuff.

Like Wepeeler stated, FNRd4 feels like a completely different game compared to Rd3. And it should considering it's being developed by a different group of developers and producers.

I've played both Rd3 and Prizefighter. Both had some decent qualities to them. But Rd4 blows them both out of the water. Not even close. In every aspect.
I can't say much more so everyone will have to hear the full reports from the various community leaders. But when we get into detail why it dominates both those games, you'll be pre-ordering this baby asap.

And Wepeeler, my 'felbow's (front elbows) were sore the whole next day. That trainer was a sociopath!
We were all dog-assed tired and then we get Mosley and this trainer dropping 8-10lb medicine balls on our stomachs while keeping our heads and feet in the air.

I've always respected boxers, but it really gives you a much higher appreciation of how hard they work. No wonder a lot of the bigger men in America are choosing football and basketball over boxing. Boxing is 1000x harder to prepare for.

Great to hear Money....I have high hopes this year for EA sports with Fight Night, NCAA FB, and Madden

I think they've hired some guys that really love the sport and who want to see their games represent that sport well

That's a very large understatement. These guys really want to make the best boxing game possible.

And Jenny Freeman (art director) needs a big round of applause too. The game is gorgeous!

To follow up on Money's comment on the stupid attribute enhancing shorts/mouthguards and waist pads: I had quite a laugh with Brian Hayes about that. I can't say much more than that, so take from that what you will...

And as far as using the analogs...You guys are in for a nice surprise. At least I was happy...

I think everyone was split on the surprise... I personally didn't much care for it, though it did not dull my excitement of the game.

The last I heard I believe it was scheduled for a late June release. But there were no dates thrown around at the Event. At least, if they did mention it, I didn't hear it.
Maybe Wepeeler, Complex or Shakyr shine a light on that?

sk88z posted on the EA forums regarding the first official gameplay video.
It's set to drop around March 15th on IGN:

                            Hey guys,

Just want to set the expectations straight here. We'll be sending our first video out to IGN next week and they will be playing it on their site 2nd week of March.

I'm working hard with our PR team to see what we and the community leaders will be able to discuss. Come week of the 15th we'll have some boxers revealed and more cool stuff to come. Also working with the community leaders that were in attendance and they'll all be on the same page with their thoughts come the week of the 15th as well.

Things will be coming at a furious pace very soon and I totally appreciate everyone's patience. I know how hungry our community is about hearing about the game and I thank you all for not ripping my head off.

Now...the first 2 people that post here the 3 community leaders names or gamertags that got to step into the ring with Sergio Mora on Monday get Fight Night 2 shirts.

                            Any takers?
It sounds like he's working hard with the PR department to let us talk about the game either before or at the same time as this release.

I really hope we can talk about some things before this. I know that everyone had written some good notes, but the gameplay experience starts to fade as the days go by.
I'm trying to write down as many things about the hands-on that I can so this doesn't happen.

P.S. I wanted to add that sk88z and the development team would love it if we could start talking about things. It's up to the PR department though as they're the experts in generating interest.

interesting im dying to know what the surprise is. I'll settle for knowing out of you guys that have played it which ones are excited about the analog surprise and which ones didn't care for it too much?

This is encouraging. Although I think PF blew away all FN's in respect to sim (any game that discourages straight button mashing and more strategy is alright in my book. I can overlook other shortcomings although they may iritate me to no end). I think your opinion is probably as close to the truth as I'm going to get. So I'm really optimistic about this game.

EDIT: Just checked a few of your past posts Money and it seems like "you get it". Like a money investor I had to "check you out" before I invest with you. lol. But , barring some damaging news coming out this will be a day one purchase for me.
