Listen, if this game gets great reviews and there's a buzz about the game, even the guys claiming, "no way I'm playing this game without buttons" are going to throw down their $60 and learn the controls. This game is too good and too deep not to swallow your pride and play the game. I just can't believe so many people claim they can't learn something. It's alarming that someone can't take a day or two to learn something new that doesn't come to them in 5 minutes. Boxing purists will buy this game regardless of buttons or not. It's pathetic to read all the "I'm going to take my ball and go home if I don't get my way" remarks around here. If you can't make the change and quit before giving and honest effort then it's their loss. This game is going to be a HUGE seller regardless of what a few guys around here claim.

Re: Please add a option to use the buttons Ea
Ditto.
Enough is enough with the petitions to bring the buttons back. They're gone fellas. That ship has sailed. Game up, stop your bitching, and practice until your thumbs bleed. EA has taken the game in another direction. Either get used to the TCP or don't buy the game. It really doesn't get any simpler than that. It's getting really tiresome to listen to you guys complain about the lack of buttons.
The game is genius if you ask me. It's as realistic a boxing game you're going to play. The more I play the demo the more I appreciate the physics of this title. Well done EA.
If enuff people complain and petition, i guarantee there will be buttons in this game, if not by release then by a quick patch shortly after
Tpc is not good, nor is it revolutionary
it is a poorly designed system and hasnt improved much from fnr2
hopefully they add these things
like somebody already said a button user is not a button masher
if somebody comes to me mashin buttons they will get dropped so quick, if anybody who is skilled at this game actually looses to a button "masher" then your skiils as a gamer are seriously ineptComment

Re: Please add a option to use the buttons Ea
It has nothing to do with not wanting to learn how to play with tpc...it has all to do with tpc not being responsive enough..you cannot do a quick jab...straight in quick succesion like you should. I want the fighting to closely mimmick real life...in real life...u can throw the exact punch you want as soon as you think of it with no mistakes.....fix the the damn stamina and that solves the button mashing problem. Why take out something that was a OPTION? I mean...the only reason people complained last time was because they didnt like playing with tpc and having to fight somebody using the buttons...well..split the rankings online between buttons only and tpc only and your problem is fixed.
I still like the demo but anyone thinks that taking out the option of using buttons is ok is a idiot in my book.Comment

Re: Please add a option to use the buttons Ea
For the very few glad you like the TPC, kudos to you. Nobody should need weeks and weeks to figure out the controls. The controller are not user friend. I took my ps3 to the barbershop because when round 3 was out we had a lot of wars there. Hooked it up let 10 guys I knew, including the my 2 barbers play, I didn't tell them the buttons were gone I just wanted to see what they would do. They all started playing paused the game went the setting to fing the button configuration, I then told them it wasn't gonna be in the game. You should of seen the dissappointment, they got done with the 3 rounds and was like, yo, this **** wack without the buttons. So if people can't figure it out in say 5 mins, it's a wrap they mind is made up. Older guys coordinated is not that swift. All these guys bought round 3 and it didn't sound like they was buy Round 4 with the control scheme they have. You have to reach the MASSES, for the 1 person that likes it 25 hate itComment

Re: Please add a option to use the buttons Ea
Wrong, wrong, wrong....
The arch on the hooks is smaller, a simple left of right with the right stick goes to the body, and diagnal down left and right do uppercuts to the body.
quicker and easier imputs that are very different from the previous version.Comment

If there is not a option in the retail version to use buttons they its a no purchase for me. I like to be precise with my punches at where i am targeting.Comment

Re: Please add a option to use the buttons Ea
I have/Played the Demo
Grrrreat effort EA. The best FN so far to me. But, wrong move in taking away the buttons. The game is slugfest because you are unable to accurately and swiftly determine the punch you wish to throw. so Instead you find yourself just moving the stick and throwing whatever.
Sad, because EA you always find a way to mess a good thing up. Last year it was the blocking and excessive haymakers. This year’s game will be a slugfest due to no button controls.
It is well known the boxing gaming world uses the buttons. So why disgruntle the masses by taking that away??? Poor logic. i just find it strange how EA takes away choices/options.Comment

Re: Please add a option to use the buttons Ea
well the best option for you button people is to just leave....FN3 was the worst thing for a boxing fan. FN4 is a true blessing, a new blessing....
we dont need no casuals coming into this new game button mashing. True vets demanded buttons gone long time ago. Only the casual rock em sock em people used buttons & made a skilled boxing game into a bash em street fighter game..
STAY AWAY RFROM THIS GAME BUTTON USERS...STAY FAR FAR AWAY PLEASE.

Re: Please add a option to use the buttons Ea
I love TPC.. I have been in a few fights myself and didn't push any buttons to get the job done. I don't get how people think pushing buttons is "natural". Actually going though the motions with the control sticks feels more natural to me. Whatever floats yer boat I guess..Comment

Re: Please add a option to use the buttons Ea
You have to be careful in deeming it more sim because it has only TPC. I don't use the buttons because I think it's way too fast with them. In FN3 you could layout a flurry of hooks, uppercuts, jab/cross combos like you were Flash. It's just not realistic.
You take FN4's current TPC set up, with more than 3 rounds of boxing, and you have a very nice system in place. I mean, are you jabbing with Manny? He's very fast with TPC. Not to mention the left stick controls. I love them. Watch in this quick video how Hatton evades and hits Manny. I used that left stick motion and it paid off.
