The movement in the game is actually pretty good. It was my #1 major concern from playing the demo the first few times but after getting acquainted with the controls and the retail version tweaked the step back move slightly so... Right now i love the game A LOT.

If you see a slugfest its because the boxers involved wanted to slug it out.

Good post. Covers all the bases.

    cheers

I've tried multiple strategies, including just being patient: waiting, waiting, waiting, bobbing and weaving, and then countering with hooks and uppercuts. That seems to be the most successful way, but if I don't get a knockout, he's exhausted by the middle rounds. And forget about sticking and moving and conserving energy. He just can't do that - too slow. I suppose I could just wait all fight, and throw one or two punches at a time, the thought being to keep his stamina high so that when you do connect, it would knock the guy out. But in doing that, you end up giving away rounds to anyone who can box. Anyobdy have a successful strategy with Tyson (not against him)?
      hmmm..

I'd say go for broke son!

On a serious note. I think theres a mindset of being "Iron Mike," you have to be patient, since its easy to get carried away trying to take someones head off. I'd say a balanced approach, try to wear the other guy down with body punches as well. So even if you have to wait to get ur KO punch you arent at a severe disadvantage come the later rounds.

ive played this, and i feel the footspeed is to slow. i like using outside fighters and i try and try to stay outside but i cant. i back up and cant get away from guys throw body punches. all of you try this get ali vs tyson, get close to tyson and try to back out with ali while tyson is moving forward. u cant, and if u think u can let me get tyson and u try. i really dislike this game. i think the footwork in round 3 was better

Lay off the block modifier and utilize the double tap on the left stick...

a lot of people couldn't get away from tyson in real life. i know what you mean but that's a bad comparison.

also, i haven't had a problem if, as the poster above me said, you lay off the block and don't have a very slow footed boxer.
