Re: Does The Block Meter Need Recalibration?
This is why I pray that the Fight Night team doesn't spend any time whatsoever on graphics or arenas. Just tighten the engine with common sense, add presentation, add the obvious fighters to the roster, and beef up the career mode.
They really aren't far away from a near perfect game.Comment

Especially on the higher difficulty levels, the CPU's gloves seem to be magnetically attracted to whatever part of your body isn't covered.Recovering slider addict...Fight Night Round 4 caused me to relapse...Comment

Re: Does The Block Meter Need Recalibration?
I think it does. I think there needs to be an animation where you can push a punch aside with your arm instead of clinching your arms to your body. Keep that but add some sensible parry animation.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Re: Does The Block Meter Need Recalibration?
It's not just that, online is a joke. Unless the punch is timed and countered or collects only air it is a hit, pure and simple. I just fought Tyson on GOAT (and won) and he landed 38% of his punches. Online is too fast (faster than Ali/Roy Jones Jr on GOAT), hitting someones gloves is taken as a hit to the face/body a lot of times and defense consists of turbo blocking (which I admittedly d online because I have to) or running/rope-a-dope the entire fight, unless you are good at slipping/ducking. Bobbing and weaving is a joke as well, as punches are just to accurate and, like another poster said, are magnetically attracted to the open areas. The lowest connect percentage I have had online was 48% against a guy who threw 1000 punches, 200 of which were haymakers that can't be blocked. It doesn't pay to box online, only whoever is the best at a toughman competition. Recalibrating blocking and having the meter wear down about 1/3rd to 1/2 slower would go a long way towards that.Comment

Re: Does The Block Meter Need Recalibration?
A parry animation is definately needed. And I dont mean just an animation but a command to trigger the animation. Simply covering up should not reward you with a counter oppertunity. Its one thing if I am throwing recklessly and you cover up to see the whole in my attack and throw a well timed punch. But simply walking foward and rapidly putting your hands up should not constitute a parry that leaves me so open. Ive tried to box from the outside and watched as my jab and straights are rendered useless by way of twitch blocking.Comment

For me personally, I think they should take the block counter out altogether. Leave the slip/weave/dodge counter and leave it at that.Recovering slider addict...Fight Night Round 4 caused me to relapse...Comment

Re: Does The Block Meter Need Recalibration?
The counter window is actually being addressed in the patch. If I'm not mistaken, its going to be a slider so you should be able to turn it off all together.
Stamina slider is going to be included in the patch also. Now I dont know how this is going to work for online but it'll be perfect for me. Hell, all I really play is legacy mode, getting online only every now and then.Comment

I'm coming to realize that the entire game revolves around the counter. Every fighter is essentially a counter-puncher.Recovering slider addict...Fight Night Round 4 caused me to relapse...Comment
