This is based off the demo and i was about to pick it up. I was having fun having somewhat strategic battles using block and bobbing weaving and counter punching, but then i figured out if i throw uppercuts all day and just hold the haymaker button and keep doing that i pummel my opponent. the AI seems really weak. Is this adjustable in the full version or more EA crappy AI that can be beaten with a stick if you want to. I am not using block or anything anymore. I just keep throwing uppercuts and demolish ricky hatton every time.

I saw the same thing, but its on a low difficulty for the demo. I've been able to sneak a few in on Championship, but nothing like what you could on the demo. ON championship, they will block and counter you.
The game feels tighter and more tuned than the demo in general.GT: Teambayern5

lol. It was just a simple question. I was playing the demo and noticed it was very easy to do this and was just wondering if the full game on higher difficulties if it was the same before i went out and purchased it. Why are people on the internet such dorks and get all bent without being able to answer a simple question. First guy who responded was cool. Thanks for the answer. The other two not so much. The reason he cares is because your question has been answered 1000 times over in the impressions thread. It just takes a little bit more time and effort on your part to read through it.
But since you seem to be waiting for someone to answer you, go ahead and buy it. Out of the box, the game is very similar to the demo, but the full version has sliders so it can be changed to your heart's content.Recovering slider addict...Fight Night Round 4 caused me to relapse...Comment

yeah i took the 1st guys advice and did and im really liking it. He was right on championship it is much harder right now. This game is very fun. I havent played a boxing game in a long time and this brings back memories of oldschool boxing games. I'll try to keep this stuff in the impression thread now that i have the game. But wow just went 10 rounds with Toney. I was Ali. He had 2 knockdowns i had 1 going into the 10th and final round. I got up at the count of 10 in the 9th round. I needed a knockout because he was winning slightly on the scorecard but it was close round for round. I knocked him down in the 10th then knocked him out with 23 seconds left in the final round. He didn't get up. That was crazy. It was a boxing match for the ages.Comment

If you play online you will see the game is broken. Offline I play on Championship level. It's a great game offline. Just don't waste your time going online. The game is horrible when the button mashers get to it.

counter's are the problem. It ruined the game for me and I'll be getting rid of it during my next anticipated release. I think the game is so overrated and I'm so suprised the other guys on this forum who are so into boxing think the game is so good with the crazy counter system. Intstead of freezing and zooming in the camera they should have made the counter system just like the UFC game. you get a bit of a power boost for a bonafied counter, but it doesn't create a situation like fn4 where the absolute best strategy is to block and dodge until you havea counter 'window' and rock the other guy and knock him down. rinse and repeat. you can't really work the jab because of this absolute idiotic system.
Sure it's a game mechanic everyone can understand and take advantage of, but it's not boxing. The best thing about the game is boxershare and photo game face. In the ring it's got a lot of issues, the biggest of which is the counter system which for me personally has become a game killer. I would have been ok with a rental...i really need to learn that lesson, but I always just buy when I get a little excited.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

If you're playing online, the above may be necessary in order to be competitive. But playing like this offline is not at all necessary. I work the jab ALL THE TIME, it's all about how you play. Sure, if you want to block and dodge and EXPLOIT the counter window, then go ahead. But you don't HAVE to do that.Recovering slider addict...Fight Night Round 4 caused me to relapse...Comment

to a certain extent you're right, but my biggest point was there shouldn't be a 'counter window' at all. It really shouldn't be there imo and the game would be a lot better without it.
Another thing is, that the AI takes advantage of it too. You can too easily get countered off of a jab. you jab and whiff and get hit with an uppercut that sends you reeling. After that, sometimes you have to just play defense and counter to get back into the fight because the counters are overpowered. It's just a bad gameplay mechanic that wasn't necessary at all.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment
