This might be old...posted by brizzo in FNR4 forums about online stamina

We have made some changes to the stamina that will be part of the DLC.

However, just to address the issue around, "What are you waiting for?" When we make changes to the game for and upcoming DLC, we always have to test it to make sure that the change doesn't break something else. There wouldn't be much point in reducing value X by 50%, throwing it over the fence and then getting feedback about how something else has now become a major problem. Then, once the new stuff is tested it has to go through Microsoft and Sony for approval just like the regular game does and that takes time as well. I just wanted to make that clear, I assure you that we aren't waiting for solar eclipses or carrier pigeons to bring us the formal request with the royal seal. We try and turn around on this stuff as fast as we can.
    a separate post...

I think so? If I'm not supposed to they'll take this down so remember it

Basically, we made a very slight adjustment to stamina loss overall. But more importantly, we significantly increased stamina loss when a boxer punches non-stop for a certain period of time (i.e. spams). That could be spamming anything - head, body, straights, hooks, uppercuts. That increased stamina loss effect also takes a certain period of time to wear off.

But that's as much detail as I will divulge.
Stamina was tweaked slightly, but that section in bold excites me, and just in time, as I have my 360 coming back to me from the repair depot.

Thanks acts28shaun, this is DEFINITELY good news. I knew they had a patch in the works, but I hadn't seen exactly what it was going to include. Have you happened to come across an estimated release date?

They originally announced that there would be two DLC. The first in 4 weeks (from about a week and a half ago, so around the end of July) and the 2nd in September.

The first was going to include bugfixes as well as some new sliders. The second was going to add button punching.

Right now it's in testing. I have a feeling MS and PS will have it in a week and a half, maybe two weeks to test and release by the 1st week of august.

This is excellent news. Knowing that they are addressing the specific fact that people are throwing too many punches is very reassuring.

          Thanks for the post Acts238.

No thanks needed. I am just glad I saw it. I knew you guys would be as excited as I am, if not more. Online stamina fix plus new sliders = a much better game. I can actually box those a-holes online now. I like the Lennox Lewis style, but it will be nice to fight that way in WC mode as well as quick matches.

So when this is implemented, what will the new/most used cheese be? Foot locking? Hand locking? Turbo blocking? Running and waiting on counters? What do you think?

That's actually a good question. I don't know. I think in turn, if stamina is properly adjusted, we'll see higher DNF percentages and then a drop in spammers playing.

But, who am I to wish?

Man i need this patch to come out immediately! The frustration that this game has become online is too much.
Online should be for hardcore players, those guys are hardcore they play like 500 fights in a couple weeks... so why not make the gameplay online as sim as possible. The hardcore crowd will adjust. Tweak the stamina as stated by brizzo and lower the damn accuracy on punches, raise the headbutt/low blow awareness of the ref, and slightly raise the power of power punches landed (not haymakers). and we should have perfection.

Here's my list I posted on the EA board for WC mode:

                        1. Stamina - been mentioned repeatedly.
                        2. Blocking is ineffective overall. Block meter should wear down slower, blocks should register more.
                        3. In WC Mode head shots don't have enough power. That is why body spammers spam.
                        4. Counter window is twice the size it should be.
                        5. Hand speed for blocking too slow. Moving block from head to body is slower than opponents punch from head to body. Might be ok if punch speed was dialed down.
                        6. Head butts occurring ten times with no DQ, but I have a red line a mile long.
                        7. Punches are too fast. Way too fast in WC mode and a little too fast overall (quick match). fight now with speed slider on GOAT set to ten is slower than anything online. If blocking had speed was tweaked to be faster this would be a good compromise. I prefer the blocking sped up than slowing the punches.
                        8. No penalty for using 5'11 200 lb or 6'8" 260 lb fighter. All fight the same as far as stamina and speed in WC mode.
                        9. Freezing waiting for online matches. 360 is at shop for RROD (1st time).

                        What do you think?

You shouldn't have problems pushing a guy off of you when you've blocked 3 of their punches and scored 3 of your own. Is this a feet tangle issue?

Sounds like it. I usually don't have foot tangle issues. One thing I have noticed is when you switch stances it can help you get untangled. Try switching stances after timing a block. It isn't perfect, but it helps. I usually don't get tangled (fight as a lefty), but when I do get tangled I can usually push them away.
