Re: Floyd Mayweather radio interview (gets punked hardcore)

arugement is full of holes. again, margarito had how many named opponents on his record? he had a 20 wins against nobodies. so did paul williams. why aren't thses guys required to at least take on 3 guys we have heard of? oh by the way he turned down margarito and fought dlh. you tell me which one does more for his legacy?

and mosley looked classless in his effort after floyds fight.

if floyds legacy is dependent on fights against margarito and cintron like someone mentioned, then he never had a legacy.

again, pls tell me when floyd turned down cotto?

I will tell you when, as soon as the winner of saturday's fight calls him out.

He will end up fighting some no name guy with a 26-0 record with 3
      ko's.

Floyd has all the talent in the world and no heart to go along with it.

I'm a big Floyd Mayweather supporter, but it's hard to defend him. There's no excuse for him to avoid a Mosley fight, unless he's holding out for the Pac/Cotto winner. After that he should walk the talk and line'em up. If he wants respect or a legacy like Ali and Sugar Ray then he has to make everyone eat thier words, like they did. As of now, I have more respect for Fernando Vargas than I do for Floyd. Fernando Vargas is a millionaire too, he won't be a legend, but he dared to be great.

Vargas? You serious? Vargas, carried out on a stretcher and his career was over Vargas?

He fought delahoya after he fought some other dude for 4 million, half of what he wouldve gotten from Margharito.
The thing is since the DLH fight he's decided to pick on smaller opponents. Floyds at a level where he needs to be challenged by a larger opponent. So he can prove that hes soo good he can overcome a size disadvantage.
Sugar Ray leonard wasn't scared to fight Tommy Hearns.
Nobody can say **** about Cotto.... dude will fight anybody anytime. Thats not the case for Floyd.
Your argument would be that he doesn't have to. If he wants to be considered the greatest of all time(which he has a shot of being) he does have to.

While people are piling up on PBF, I think the blatant ducking of Paul Williams by Pavlik is 100 times worse than anything Floyd has done. Pavlik pulled out of his Dec. 5 fight with Paul Williams because of a staph infection to his hand. But now that PW got another fight. Pavlik has magically recovered to fight Espino two weeks later.

I've gotta agree with you on that. This was a straight bitch move by Pavlik.

let me approach the Paul vs Pavlik figth anothr way. Now I like Paul, but he has to have the weakest 30+ win record in recent history. I wish he would work to clean up 160 or 154 before he wants a shot at the crown. Many of these up and comers lack quality wins among themselves. Its something that is rampant in boxing
. Too many guys are getting pit agaist the champ and they are not ready. was arreola ready? tony thompson?

boxing needs some real reform so folks are earning titles and title shots. do we even have unified champ at any weight?

What i bolded doesn't make any sense to me. im not sure what you were trying to say.

we dont have unified champs because the damn federations clash with each other and demand a dude choose a belt and drop one or the other(when they win multiple belts).

Typing on my phone, had lots of typos. What I am saying is that Paul Williams has one of the weakest 30+ win records in history.

Yes, Fernando Vargas, he fought Wright, Quartey, Trinidad, De La Hoya, and Mosley, all top fighters in his class at the time, he dared to be great, something Floyd is afraid to do.

No he was marketed as the next big thing and wasn't. He rose way too fast and fell flat on his face and because of that he is no where to be found today.

Big difference between the two fighters and they're selection of challengers.
The heavyweight division is garbage. Plain and simple.
Valuev is/was probably the only guy that could give much of a challenge to either KO brother and he wanted no part of them.
What are they to do? The only thing they can do is continue to fight mandatories and the best challengers out there - which they have been.
Also, I don't remember the last time the Klitscho's hand-picked a cruiserweight over-and-over again to fight.

Floyd only had to wait 24 hours, after the Pacman-Hatton fight, before challenging Pacquio. Instead he hand-picked a fighter that was 17 pounds lighter than him.
He's avoiding Williams like the plague. He wants no part of a rejuvenated Mosley.
And I don't believe he wants anything to do with Cotto now that he's grown into a 147-pound body.

Like Rugger said, Floyd's a great talent and a great fighter. But he's not a great champion. Fight the best. Better yet, fight the best at your weight.
Floyd's probably a natural jr. Middleweight now. Seeing as how he refused to re-weight himself the night of the Marquez fight, I'd say he tipped the scales close between 155-160.
Challenge Winky. Challenge Williams. Challenge Cintron.

It'll never happen. He sees nothing wrong with picking on smaller fighters. But ironically he doesn't see why he should fight a bigger opponent.

I'll say it till the day I die. If Floyd won the lottery he'd never step through the ropes again. He cares nothing for the sport of boxing or being the best. His only motivation is being rich.
I at least have to give him credit for changing his nickname to 'Money'. At least he's not trying to hide his true intentions anymore.

I want to add that I greatly respect your opinion Complex. Having met you, I think you're a very cool guy and know you're stuff. It was a pleasure making your acquaintance.
I think this is a case where you, and myself, are allowing our personal feelings for Floyd cloud our judgment of where he really stands.
It's probably somewhere in between my opinion and yours.
