    Friend of mine says...

"Pacquiao can't box. He's good, but he wasn't impressive against Cotto. He thinks Pacquiao is not that fast, and he says Zab Judah is probably faster."

    Truth or insanity?

Insanity.. that was Pac's most impressive performance. Mayweather is better.. but that was also better than any of Mayweathers performances to date. Pac is not the fastest but thats like chosing between a Ferrari and a Lambo fast is fast. Its fast enought to hit you 6 times before you could move.

Pacman would eat Zab.. Zab was fast.. but undisciplined..

Insanity, thats why you're probably not going to get alot of responses. Pac would mop the floor with Zab, something Mayweather was not able to do.

        1. Zab is always gonna be the truth to me.

        2. Anyone who says Pacquiao can't box is ******** as hell.

        3. Money May is gonna win the fight.

Some of you guys are gonna look silly when Manny dominates Mayweather who has yet to fight someone with the combination of Manny's speed, power, toughness and smarts. In fact it already seems that Mayweather already looks kind of intimidated because he knows he can't run away from Manny for 12 rounds.

This fight reminds me of the Tyson\Spinks bout in that it might be over before the bell rings because, like Tyson\Spinks, the difference between Manny and Mayweather for this fight is that Manny is fighting to win and Mayweather is fighting for the money. Argue all you want in Mayweather's defense but we'll see come March.

Is it even official yet? Cause all I know is Pacquiao was the one who already signed. Mayweather hasn't yet...

Listen, Manny is a great fighter.. but you forgot to mention manny hasnt faced a skilled boxer as Mayweather.. a fast fighters as Mayweather.. or a Defensive Phenom as Mayweather..

I like Manny but i think Floyd has the ability to make Manny look silly.. Manny has become a good boxer.. but he is a better fighter.. He cant Box with May.. his only option is to fight.. and May is a counter puncher and defensive specialist.. you do the math.

With all due respect that's almost the same thing they said about Tyson when he faced Spinks. Not to mention what the naysayers said about Manny going against Cotto last month and Cotto didn't deserve to be in the ring with him just like Hattan. Manny is just driven and focused, something that I haven't seen since Tyson in the late 80's and I see the same reaction from Mayweather about this fight that I saw from Spinks who was quite respected at that time before he got destroyed by Tyson. Call me crazy but I get the exact same vibe with this fight that I did with Tyson\Spinks and the similarities are eerie.

The onus will be on Mayweather to survive and it's not like Manny will punch himself out or is a stupid fighter like Foreman was against Ali. Manny is gonna be relentless and won't let Mayweather control the tempo of the fight and once Mayweather feels like he's not in control, it's over for him.

We both have our differing opinions but all I ask is we bring up this thread after the fight when Manny destroys Mayweather (I hope it doesn't because I want a good fight but I think it will be very anticlimatic) which I truly think is gonna happen, IMO Manny is in a league by himself right now.

Define can't box. Great speed, yes. Uses angles well, best to ever do it. Great footwork, yessir. All things that are part of being able to box. Now is he a great counter puncher, not really. Does he slip punches with regularity, no. Works in the inside well, not that well.

But he uses his style and gifts to win fights. Which is no different than many other fighters. By your friends definition, there are probably only a handful of guys that embodied all (or most) of the basic skills of boxing.

IMO, in his prime, yes Judah is faster. Judah had unbelievable hand speed. Had the best and fastest double jab I have ever seen in my life.

I have to agree with Complex, Judah was faster in his prime. That being said, Judah had horrid fundamentals and he backed straight back.

Manny can box BUT, I would never compare this fight to Tyson-Spinks, totally diff fights and Spinks moved up (and fought an old Larry Holmes) whereas Manny is the one moving up and he has fought the older and more shopworn fighters. Not to say that Floyd hasn't, I am just saying that was not a good comparison at all.

Insanity. Judah is blindingly fast but flawed.

Pacquiao is a much more complete boxer than Judah or Cotto, for a few reasons. One, he approaches opponents from so many different angles. Two, he is so unpredictable in his combinations. He can follow a two-punch combo with a five-punch combo, and everything in between. It's almost impossible to fight-plan for this guy.

Finally, Freddie Roach has developed a savage right hand to match Pacquiao's atomic left. Pacquiao is a true two-handed fighter now.

Someone really thinks this fight is going to be a 90-second affair???? I'm not seeing any of the Tyson-Spinks analogy at all - not even a little bit. It's one thing to think Manny will win, which I think a lot of people will agree with, but I think that just totally discounts Mayweather's abilities. For anyone to be that confident in the outcome at this stage - I dunno, I can't see there being any basis for it.

Hopefully we get to see who's right, one way or another...

Agreed. Anyone who thinks this is going to be a 90-second fight clearly hasn't seen many Tyson fights. The guy had ATOMIC power, much more proportionately than Pacquiao. Plus Spinks was nowhere near as good of a defensive boxer as Mayweather.
