Not 90 seconds but it will be one sided. I guess I'm showing my age but I remember that fight and the trendy pick among the "prognosticators" was Spinks (even though Tyson was the betting favorite among the public) because up to that time Tyson never fought anybody with the skill, counterpunching ability and strong chin of Spinks. This build up just reminds me of the Spinks\Tyson build up which was a huge fight at the time.

Well guess what, Spinks (who coincidentally undefeated at that time as well, if you were around in the 80's then you know Spinks was highly regarded at the time, the Tyson debacle killed whatever legacy he had) had never fought someone like Tyson up to that time just like Floyd has never fought someone quite like Manny.

Manny is not a good match up for Floyd. Floyd doesn't have the power to knock him out and the way Manny is a buzzsaw for 12 rounds from all angles it's next to impossible for Floyd to run and outpoint him for 12 rounds. By the 8th round, if he's not knocked out by then, Floyd's primary goal will be to go to the distance. Watch and see.

Always heads straight back. And thats when he always gets rocked. If he moved laterally or side stepped, it would do him wonders.

I definitely remember the lead-up to the Spinks-Tyson fight (first fight I ever PPV'd), but I don't recall that many people thinking Spinks would win. A few boxing pundits, and parties with a stake in the matter like Ring magazine, made the argument that a battle of styles would ensue, but Tyson was a heavy betting favorite going into the fight, suggesting the public was in agreement with the bulk of the sporting media. Spinks was a light-heavyweight who moved up and barely out-pointed Larry Holmes to claim some sort of "title", but as I recall the general feeling was that Tyson would almost certainly win the fight.

In this situation, not only has Pacquiao been beaten (definitely not the aura of invincibility Tyson had at that time), but he's the one fighting at above his "natural" weight. And no one considered Spinks to be the best defensive fighter ever (as many do with Mayweather), not to mention Pacquiao's power is nowhere near as overwhelming as Tyson's was circa 1988.

Again, if you think Pac-man's going to win, fine - many people do. But I see no comparisons to the Tyson-Spinks fight in 1988. I agree with your suggestion that we "watch and see", provided this fight actually happens.

Incidentally, as I recall one of the undercards to that '88 Spinks-Tyson fight included Buster Douglas, who was jabbing some guy to death and who not a year and a half later effectively ended Tyson's career. Weird.
