Re: Pacquio Agrees to Mayweathers Blood Testing Demands

From Ross Greenburg, President of HBO

"Fights like Mayweather vs. Pacquiao are significant because of these fighters' ability to connect with sports fans around the world," said Greenburg. "It's unfortunate that it won't happen in 2010. I had been negotiating with a representative from each side since May 2, carefully trying to put the fight together. Hopefully, someday this fight will happen. Sports fans deserve it."
I honestly don't want to hear anymore excuses on Floyd's behalf. Both De La Hoya and Floyd are lying, the president of HBO confirmed it. Floyd is coward. End of story.

As someone who would like to see the fight, but isn't invested in either fighter, this thread is comedic gold. I bet folks in here would gladly get in the ring themselves to defend their guys' honor. Grown men are acting like little kids. I kinda hope they never fight, so that dudes will still be arguing about it 50 years from now in the old folks home.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Seriously, aren't you guys tired of the endless back and forth? There's no one party to blame. These two never wanted to fight each other. If ever they discussed it, both of them had hesitation in their voices.

That's what I've been saying. Pacquiao fans just can't seem to cope with the fact that dude isn't the Robocop of boxing though who fears no one and only does the right thing without fail.

Did Pac just wake up and have an epiphany?
You know what dude, you're absolutely right. Because Manny has the tendency to go out and call people out in public. He does that on a normal basis like Floyd does. The dude barely even speaks to the media. He answered Floyd's challenge, Floyd backed off. How can you not see that?

This is just too funny already. I'll let you and and small percentage of Mayweather backers have you're fun. Keep staying in the past, this fight will never happen. Mayweather himself said agree to the test and we have a fight. Manny agreed. DLH confirmed negotiations. Arum confirmed negotiations. Greenberg confirmed negotiations. Mayweather...what's that? Denies negotiations ever took place.

Like you said, it goes both ways. So for Margarito to step up and fight Manny, what does that say about Mayweather?

The writing is clear on the wall.

Like someone said, this is pointless already.

Just saw this after my above post:

"They never run out of reasons saying why it won’t happen. But the truth is they don’t want the fight. And they say so many nasty things about me. But I don’t mind. I won’t even say anything bad against them. Let’s show them that Filipinos know how to respect people."

Re: Pacquio Agrees to Mayweathers Blood Testing Demands

Both sides are at fault here. Floyd isn't talking at all right now, but Pac and Arum are just as guilty. Arum blatantly violated their mutually agreed gag order until negotiations finished to win public sentiment. Then talks about provisions being agreed upon without mentioning what those provisions are, and quickly puts together another fight between two of his boxers so he can continue to make money off of Pac. This fight should've happened earlier this year. I think that Roger Mayweather's legal issue is causing the holdup at this moment. There is no way Pac fights without Roach in a fight of this magnitude. This topic is dead until a fight is actually made between the two.

he's playing PBF's game now.....accepting the fight and terms when the timing isn't good for PBF. why doesn't PBF just admit this if this is the case? it's funny how pac had a alternate fight (margarito) already in the works too. it seems floyd doesn't, although, cotto would be a logical choice since he hasn't fought him yet, is beatable, and a ppv draw.

Not really a big boxing fan and don't keep up with any of the big fighters except for what I catch on espn. Just from an outsider prospective though it really looks like Floyd is dodging Manny. First there was the whole drug testing thing, which doesn't Boxing test for PEDs?, and now that Manny finally submitted to Floyd's demands he, Mayweather, seems to be ignoring it all.

Again I don't really keep up with the sport, but on shows like PTI and sportscenter they say that Floyd likes to talk a lot of trash and basically believes he is god's gift to boxing. If he is so confident I don't see why he would have asked for the 30 day drug test in the first place and now act as though he isn't even considering the possibility of a fight with Pac.

I was flipping through satellite radio in a rental car ( the only way I will ever hear it -too cheap) and I don't know the name of the show, but they were talking about this and one of the host, I wish I could remember his name, said Floyd will fight Pac next year for 2 reasons:

                            1. Floyd just got out of tax problems, so his advisers are telling him to not have 2 mega pay days in the same calender year to avoid the tax hit.

                            2. Floyd trains so hard that 60 days between fight prep isn't enough.

Very good points from somebody who stated he loved both fighters.

                              I can see that

Floyd has set himself up for criticism though with all of his GOAT bravado in the past imo...if he really wants to be the GOAT then Floyd should be chomping at the bit for this fight imo...but maybe Floyd has changed along with his priorities, which happens

And I have no problem with that. People have their personal lives to take care of first; athletes and celebrities are no different. But for a guy to air it out on public and isn't afraid to let it all hang out through his mouth, why doesn't he say as much. He should have no problem with that.

The reason why we're not talking about Manny's advantages vs. Floyd's advantages in the fight, is that Floyd has yet to indicated publicly (which is his style), barring any trials or setbacks that he will fight Manny once this has cleared up.

Yet, he hasn't accepted the challenge, so we're left here playing the blame game instead.
