Re: Pacquiao to Fight Margarito in November
The only way this fight happens is if Pac takes some severe damage or loses interest in the sport. Basically, Floyd will wait for Pac to show some rust and then pounce.
Floyd will continue to talk like he's taking a year or 2 off and then when if Pac is retired or damaged goods, then he'll call him out.
Pac agreed to all of Floyd's demands and all Floyd can do is run his mouth on Youtube.
If you're prepared to flame someone with a viral video then you should be prepared to back your words up.
All of Floyd's posturing has only given ammo to his detractors who claim he's a coward and a chicken - which he is.
Who on earth turns down $50M or $60M? I would expect that from some fighters, but certainly not from a man who nicknamed himself 'Money' and claims he's more businessman than boxer. Isn't making a guaranteed $50M good business?
I guess it is if you're fighting someone you're confident you can beat.
If JMM requested a rematch and guaranteed $50M for a fight next week, do you really think Floyd would turn that down too? NO WAY IN HELL!
So keep on running Floyd! Some day Pac will retire and then you can go back to pee'ing standing up.Comment

If you think PBF is afraid then fine but this is business no more and no less. I remember how long the Sugar Ray and Hagler fight took. The fight took years make.Last edited by grunt; 11-15-2010, 01:23 PM.Comment

Re: Pacquiao to Fight Margarito in November
I think it was Jim Lampley that said it during the fight:
Something to the extent of:
Floyd is just waiting for Pacquiao to get older, slower, weaker, before he takes on a fight with him.
PBF has never faced anyone as fast and persistant as Pacquiao is when it comes to punching. Floyd is smart knowing that if he faces someone faster than him, he can make that one mistake that can cost him.
I look as PBF as similar to Roy Jones in terms of speed. No fighter could touch Roy Jones cause of how fast he was and his defense. But as he got older, he lost that quickness, and once he got hit, people realized he never had a chin.
PBF has never been rocked before. and I think he knows that someone that can throw 100+ punches for 12 rounds gives them a good probability of landing a few of those power punches that may negatively effect PBF.Comment

PBF was rocked by Mosley.

Re: Pacquiao to Fight Margarito in November
The more people hate PBF the bigger the purse will be for the fight. The ultimate bad guy, coward, etc against the people champion. Both Arum and PBF are having wet dreams over this fight. He soooooo scared...ok but when the fight is made is late 11 or 12 then money will fall from the skies.
If you think PBF is afraid then fine but this is business no more and no less. I remember how long the Sugar Ray and Hagler fight took. The fight took years make.
I agree that all of this waiting and huffing and puffing will only hype the fight up even more.
However, how long is Floyd going to gamble that Pac will continue fighting and winning?
What would have happened if Margarito had caught Pac and KO'd him? Then what? Poof! The $50-60M is gone!
If Floyd continues to duck this fight is dead. There's nobody else to fight for either of them. And Pac has enough money and a big interest as a Congressman now.
He's not lying when he says he doesn't need Floyd. But Floyd sure as hell needs Pac. If Pac were to retire now, Floyds career would be eternally smudged. Whenever the name 'Mayweather' would come up, you would forever hear "...but he never fought Pacquio" attached to the reference.
Despite having a '0' beside the 'L' category Floyd will always be seen as a coward and never having fought the best. He'll always be seen as yellow and rightfully so.Comment

Re: Pacquiao to Fight Margarito in November
My cousin and I had a discussion about this during the Pac fight, especially what was going on backstage with all the arguements about wraps, drinks, etc.
Does it seem to anyone else that Boxing is slowly becoming more like the WWE? It seems as if there are now storylines incorprated into boxing. Wether its drug tests, or wraps, or some sort of cheating.
Saturday nights fight was almost like a WWE PPV with them cutting to backstage and hear 2 sides fighting with each other.
And of course theres the long going drama of Mayweather.
I was actually inticipitating Mayweather coming out after Pac's fight and saying he wanted a title shot!Comment

Floyd doesn't care about belts just about money. He doesn't care about "history" just the money. Floyd has been around boxing all his life. Sparring with Frankie Warren and Sweat Pea. He knows the business in and out and the reality of fighters being exploited and broke at the end of their career.Comment

Re: Pacquiao to Fight Margarito in November
Sugar Ray was "retired" or wait until Marvin Hagler slipped a lil or was overconfident. Sugar could have came out of retirement at anytime and made the fight. Sugar even retired after one of Hagler fights and you could see what the **** on Hagler face. Manny is the people champion but PBF is the bad guy. He want to dictate the terms of the fight. Arum knows the strategy behind PBF ploy and that is why he is keeping Manny active and in the public. Just brinksmanship the fight will be made but the making of this fight is a slow process.

Re: Pacquiao to Fight Margarito in November
Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw, he is a prizefighter. All of this "act" is about being the ultimate "bad guy". A defensive fighter never makes the same as offensive fighters but he figured out a way to get paid for his sweet science by getting on everyone nerves. It's about his record, it's about he is scared....dollar bill ya, dollar bill ya, a $$$ bill ya.Comment

Re: Pacquiao to Fight Margarito in November
Does Sugar Ray tactics make him a coward. PBF is doing what Sugar done his whole career. He fought when it was his advantage.

Sugar Ray was the biggest pimp but people love thenm some Sugar. Sugar understood this is business, pure business. History remember the victors not how you won.Last edited by grunt; 11-15-2010, 05:06 PM.Comment

Floyd is the ultimate b****. He'll have three backyard youtube bouts against all his baby mamas before he fight's Pac.Comment

Re: Pacquiao to Fight Margarito in November
So, if PBF is the biggest bitch then what is Sugar Ray. He manipulated the sport more than any fighter in the last 50 years. I guess some like bitches that avoided a 30 million fight over needles.Last edited by grunt; 11-15-2010, 08:27 PM.Comment

It may not be the answer we're waiting for, but it's the truth.

I said a long time ago...PBF/Pac would end up more like PBF/Hatton. Pac throwing 4-5 shots hitting nothing but shoulders and PBF picking him apart.
Hate him all you want...you know yourself that is exactly what would happen.
You all can talk about GOAT and Sugar Ray Leonard comparisons but PBF is arguably the best defensive boxer of all time.
AND...he is probably Statistically one of the most accurate boxers of all time.
Those are facts.
Pac should do what's best for the sport, the icon that he currently is, and give the blood. Shouldn't "the face" of Boxing (chuckle) do what's best for his sport??Comment
