Floyd Mayweather: 'I'll cook that chump'

    By Dan Rafael
    ESPN.com
    Archive

Floyd Mayweather Jr., who has steadfastly refused to answer questions about the most recent round of failed negotiations for a fight with Manny Pacquiao, has unleashed a vile and profanity-filled racist and homophobic rant against the Filipino star.

In an approximately 10-minute UStream video, apparently made Thursday, which has also been posted on YouTube, Mayweather also repeated his assertion that Pacquiao uses performance-enhancing drugs, an accusation that resulted in a defamation lawsuit from Pacquiao earlier this year.

Mayweather, apparently in his home with a handful of members of his entourage in the background, ripped into Pacquiao repeatedly during the video.

"I'm on vacation for about a year, about a year," Mayweather said. "As soon as we come off vacation, we're going to cook that little yellow chump. We ain't worried about that. So they ain't gotta worry about me fighting the midget. Once I kick the midget ***, I don't want you all to jump on my [expletive]. So you all better get on the bandwagon now. ... Once I stomp the midget, I'll make that [expletive] make me a sushi roll and cook me some rice."

"The video speaks for itself," Pacquiao said in a statement given to ESPN.com by his publicist, Fred Sternburg.

Animated as ever, Mayweather at times spoke directly to the camera and at other times kept the recording running while he made calls to fans who had posted messages to his UStream and Twitter pages.

The tirade came as Pacquiao is in the midst of a three-city media tour to promote his Nov. 13 fight with Antonio Margarito -- a bout taking place only because Mayweather refused to fight him. But Mayweather sure made it sound as though the fight with Pacquiao, boxing's biggest bout and the fight many believe will shatter all revenue records in boxing history, will eventually happen. They have already had two rounds of negotiations fail -- in January and again this past spring.

"At this particular time I don't know if I'm gonna fight again," Mayweather said. "As of right now, I truly believe I am gonna fight again, but as of right now I don't have the urge to get up. But when I do got the urge to get up, believe me my UStream and my Twitter fans will be the first to know, and when we do come back, we will kick 'Poochiao' ***. So I'll let the fans know. Don't worry, we'll kick Poochiao ***. He's gonna take the urine and blood test."

All terms had been agreed to in January for them to meet in March, except for the drug testing protocol. Mayweather had demanded that he and Pacquiao submit to random blood and urine tests throughout the buildup to the fight. Pacquiao agreed to random urine tests, but they could not come to an agreement on the blood testing protocol and the fight imploded.

Pacquiao went on to easily defeat Joshua Clottey on March 13. Mayweather went on to easily outpoint Shane Mosley on May 1.

Then a second round of negotiations failed in the spring and Pacquiao signed to fight Margarito.

During this week's media tour to promote the bout, Pacquiao said he gave in to Mayweather's testing demands during the second round of negotiations.

"We agree with, you know, his demands," Pacquiao said. "I wanted to know if that's his real reason [for not signing to fight]."

Mayweather's camp has denied the second round of negotiations ever took place, even though Pacquiao' promoter, Bob Arum, insisted that they did with HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg serving as the intermediary. Arum's version was backed up by Greenburg, despite the Mayweather camp's denials.

During the video, Mayweather also went on a rant about Pacquiao's record, even though he has not lost a fight since 2005, and made false comments about the money each had received for recent fights and endorsements.

"Poochiao got three losses and two draws and been knocked out twice," Mayweather said. "So, like I said before, once I beat him it's going to be a cakewalk and it's on to the next. ... We know Pacquiao made $6 million in his last fight and Floyd Mayweather made $65 million in his last fight. Three losses, two draws. Ohhh, hell no, this is America baby. We built on winning. Step your game up, [homophobic slur]. ... That [expletive] Pacquiao, he can't speak no English. He never seen a contract he didn't like. [Expletive] signed with two companies [Top Rank and Golden Boy]. Look it up. And then this [expletive] with Nike only got 70 Gs. How stupid can a [expletive] be? Reebok gave me a million dollars for three weeks. I wore Reebok [expletive] for a week for a million dollars. ... This [expletive]'s name is Emmanuel. He got a fake name, taking power pellets."

At one point in the video, Mayweather said, "We gonna cook that [expletive] with some cats and dogs. ... Rice with [a] little bit of cat, rice with a little bit of barbecued dog."

Mayweather also broke out into a bizarre song in which he called Pacquiao a "whore" and added: "When we do come back, we'll kick Poochiao's ***. I'm gonna fight the Pacman when he gets off the power pellets."

    Somebody sounds scared.

I'm sure he's praying that Pac gets hurt or beat up badly over the next 12 months.

If the two fought in November, Mayweather would get KO'd. He knows it, or else he'd have signed that fight.
His response to Dana White earlier this summer only proves that he's scared out of his mind.

Win or lose, Mayweather's very talented but it's too bad he has no class.

He also seems to forget that two of the greatest fighters of all time had losses too; Ali and Robinson.
Both of those fighters would have handed him his lunch in a P4P match.

Thats sad. Floyd ducks him and then calls him out with racial slurs after Pac signs another fight. Mayweather will fight Pac when Pac is on the decline if they fight at all or at some ridiculous weight class in the 150+ that gives Mayweather's frame the decisive advantage.

      He's a punk.

        The video is beyond wild.

"We gonna cook that [expletive] with some cats and dogs. ... Rice with [a] little bit of cat, rice with a little bit of barbecued dog."

        That had me

This guy has crossed the line but nobody is surprised. It's more surprising that his "ignorant" persona actually seems legit now.

Just a gutter/trash kind of guy that I can't really cheer for anymore.

Inciting a race battle? That just about seals the deal on this moron.

It's obvious he's doing this as his 'sales persona'. Most likely he's just hyping the fight.
But this is overboard. I think Floyd is very angry and jealous that not only does the public like Pacquio more, but also considers him a better fighter.

Floyd, this fight doesn't need anymore hype. Just sign the freakin contract and get in the ring.

That's what I've been reading across different message boards, that 'Floyd is doing his usual hyping the fight' and that he 'knows exactly what he's doing'... but like I said there are lines.

Coming into the ring with a sombrero and a poncho is OK but going on something like ustream which is basically like youtube and dropping racial slurs like that...

            Very unfortunate.

            Another black eye to boxing.

It's bad enough these two are moronic enough to dodge each other, now you got one of the idiots saying things like this? SMH

Re: Floyd Mayweather rips Pacman in video rant

It's really too bad, because I've actually defended Mayweather in the past and have always respected him as a fighter (despite being bored by his style). I also had a soft spot for him because he's from my home state. His skills are unquestioned; unfortunately, so is his personality as a jerk-wad.

It's one thing to lob some verbal grenades out there and chalk it up to "selling" a fight, but when it gets to the point you are making outright racist comments, frankly, I don't even want to see him anymore (fighting, talking, anything). This is unacceptable and I hope the the backlash is severe (although I'm sure it won't be).

He can say it's just a persona he puts on for fights, but that explanation/excuse only goes so far...I would imagine that most people wouldn't do anything radically opposed to their basic values just to get some publicity; if you are saying/doing certain things, regardless of the circumstances, you must not be THAT opposed to them. Especially when you are an already established phenomenon like Mayweather.

The fight is gonna happen, but as of today I don't really care that much anymore and don't really care to see Mayweather ever set foot in the ring again (or open his mouth). He may beat Pac, but he's already lost all respect in my opinion. I have to admit everyone else was right all along: he's a no-class, ignorant punk.

Re: Floyd Mayweather rips Pacman in video rant

I understand hyping a fight, but this is well beyond that. He is really trying to be the villain, and I am sure that he doesn't believe half the things he is saying in the video, but that racist crap is awful.

He thinks he is funny, but he is just dumb.

I don't care if hes trying to play the character to help sell the fight.....you dont go there imo

I've always been kind of impartial really, but respected his skill as a fighter and just wanted to see his skills against the best

but now he can just **** off....the little novelty I once saw in his "Money Mayweather" act is completely gone now.....

I really don't even want to see him again unless he's in a ring with PAC....hopefully getting his butt KTFO

This is just totally racist and uncalled for by Floyd. Everyone knew he was scared of Manny and was making up reasons to not fight him, but for Floyd to stoop down to this level is flat out sickening. It actually doesn't surprise me, because cowards like Floyd will do/say almost anything when they are scared, but given Floyd's ethnicity, you'd think he would be more sensitive when it comes to some of the things he said in that video.

Here is hoping that Manny knocks Floyd's head off if Floyd ever grows a set.
