C'mon people smarten up

Not a good enough excuse for racism. And even the WWF usually has the semi-good sense (aka sense of self-preservation) not to resort to out-and-out racism. Even if we grant him that he's just playing a "character", that character is a racist douche and deserving of criticism.

As I mentioned prior, I don't even care to see this fight anymore. I'm done with Mayweather, in or out of the ring.

The only thing stupider than that video is the belief that any of you think that this fight will ever happen. I can't remember an instance where one fighter was so terrified of the other fighter even with Floyd's high skill level. He is so scared that he is even willing to sacrifice all those millions and we all know how much Floyd loves money.

Even Michael Spinks has the balls to actually step into the ring even though everybody knew he was was terrified of Tyson. Yeah he went down after the 2nd punch but he still stepped into the ring. Floyd doesn't even wanna do the 1 round and out deal because of his ego but the alternative of being pounded for 12 rounds sounds even worse to him I guess.

Calling Pac yellow, and wanting him to make sushi rolls is damn right ignorant. Manny is Filipino not Japanese. I'm Filipino-American, and I find that insulting.

I could care less of what he says out of his rear, but a red flag is raised once race is involved.

I seriously doubt Floyd will lose a lot of fans. Mainly because your average person don't pay attention to boxing that much anymore and most people won't even hear about it. Boxing isn't front page news anymore.

Now let this had been a NBA, NFL, MLB, Golf or NHL player say something like this, it would have been on the front page of newspapers across america. Would have been on the news every hour.

But with boxing now......hell didn't even get mentioned in the newspaper out here or on the news.

And Str8 - every right-thinking person, whether white, black, Asian, or whatever, should be disgusted by Mayweather's comments. It wouldn't matter even if Pac were Japanese; it's not the accuracy of the racist comments that is at issue. We can do better as a society and with our celebrities than this.

I agree, I just take it personal because I was frequently discriminated against when I was younger w/ the exact same racial remarks that Mayweather has displayed. I'm sick of that stereotype.

yep....his pr guy was all over him about this, i bet. anyways, he talks alot for a guy who didn't accept the fight after manny accepted his demands. manny is still fighting business as usual against margarito. no easy task since margarito is the much bigger fighter. it must really be getting under floyd's skin that manny gets more attention than he does (even with his "undefeated" record) and he's getting sick of hearing about him. it's simple. manny lets his fists do the talking. floyd can retire now for all we care. if he wants to retire without ever knowing if he was better than manny, so be it....

My girlfriend is Filipino and she can't stand the comments Floyd has been making. The dude is scared and his act has grown old. If Manny made a video spewing out ignorant and racist statements the black community would never let him live it down. Seems like Floyd is getting by easy with a half-assed apology.
