Tomasz Adamek (42-1) vs. Vinny Maddalone
Patrick Majewski (13-0) vs. Eddie Caminero (7-3)
Sadam Ali (10-0) vs. Manuel Guzman (7-9-2)
Tomaz Adamek is a dying breed of boxer. He fights often, anywhere from 4 to 5 fights a year. Takes challenging fights and along with stay busy fights to keep his skills sharp. I support Kathy Duva whenever I get a chance as well, because of her old fashioned approach of actually promoting her fighters. She doesn't wait for handouts from HBO or SHO, and puts on fights in regions that actually support her fighters.
SHO BantamWeight tournament I believe:
Yonnhy Perez (20-0-1) vs. Joseph Agbeko (27-2)
Vic Darchinyan (35-2-1) vs. Abner Mares (20-0-1)
I am really pumped for this tournament, and hope Darchinyan can win it all. His first opponent is no slouch and can box his butt off. I can see Abner boxing circles around Darchinyan, but I cannot count him out. Perez vs Agbeko will be a nice match as well, I am going with Agbeko at the moment, but Yonnhy is nice to.
HBO Boxing After Dark
Amir Khan (23-1) vs. Marcos Maidana (29-1)
Lamont Peterson (28-1) vs. Victor Ortiz (28-2-1)
I am really excited for Khan vs Maidana, just a great fight of young guys. We'll find out who will be standing out above the rest, and I hope the winner fights Tim Bradley after he beats Devon Alexander. Ortiz vs Peterson is a very interesting match up. I would love Peterson to take it, because he grew up in D.C., but Ortiz might have a better confidence coming in. Peterson fought and lost to a tough guy in what was suppose to be his breakout fight.
ESPN3.com
Wladimir Klitschko (55-3) vs. Derek Chisora (14-0)
Whether people like there style or not the Klitschko brothers are special and probably for many years the last great heavyweights of boxing. They are great ambassadors for the sport of boxing, professional, and hard working. Best of all they fight often when not injured.
I am so excited for this weekend of boxing. Our sport ain't dying, but promoters need to promote and put on fights more often.
