Re: Fight Night Champion Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Those of you who said punch spamming is gone were right. Just KO'd a guy online (I was Ali he was Tyson) and all he did was try to keep running in close and throw as many punches as possible. I sat back and let him tire himself out and put him down twice. Guy was talking a whole lot of mess beforehand too. Disappeared quick.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

If the foot speed and stamina worked more efficiently the gameplay would at least be decent for an ea sports game. The commentary and presentation is terrible. The clinches should have animations where punches can be thrown. This is just not enough of a upgrade over fight night round 4 for a day one purchase.Last edited by videobastard; 02-03-2011, 11:38 PM.Comment

One of the funnier moments in this game come if/when you can knock a guy down and he's by the ropes. So far I have seen arms get stuck in between the ropes, bodies flop all over the place...it's pretty funny.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Definitely feeling the improved camera angles & ref, it adds a lot to the presentation.
But...
Something just feels a bit off control wise. Maybe it's the slight difference between buttons from last year, but I'm getting used to it. There also seems to be a marked advantage for taller fighters, although we are talking about the Greatest. Still, I had issues getting anything done with Tyson, while I could dominate easily with Ali.Comment

ugh, I still dont get the scoring. I just dominated a guy online in every aspect of the game except punches thrown (he threw like 320, I threw about 200... even still, I only connected on 10 less with my 65% hit rate to his 40%).
I'm talking 14 counters (of 16) to 0 (of 3), 40 power shots connected to 0 (he didn't throw any power all game), 45 body shots to about 20, etc. And I didn't win a single round

for the record, I'm only running into these major scoring issues in matches where I get knocked down and the fight should have ended in a draw. I went down in round one and dominated the next two rounds but they were awarded to my opponent.
I know someone already said they got a draw online, and I hate to call them a liar, but I'm pretty sure the devs even confirmed no online draws in an EA chat tonight. And that pisses me off, it completely screws up the scoring if we can't draw.
Now, in 12 rounds it hopefully wont be as big of an issue, but in the demo its resulted in a couple of losses I definitely shouldn't have hadLast edited by bill2451; 02-04-2011, 03:14 AM.Comment

I've had the same situations happen and the guy that's thrown more punches always seems to get the decision, assuming one guy doesn't score any knockdowns.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

I just checked out the roster again. Just now noticing, no Clottey...Damn.
I was watching a couple of pacq fights on youtube. I would've loved to recreated the pacq vs clottey fight.Comment
