I was 11-1 and looking for fights when I came across the world champion. I thought, "I am not ready for this. But what do I have to lose..." As I was fighting the former champion, I began to grow desperate because he was winning every round. However, in spite of the fact that he was out working with me by throwing volumes and volumes of punches, I knew that I was able to hurt him with my counter right hand. I felt that my only chance was to time his overhand right by sidestepping and throwing a lead right of my own. After five rounds were in the book, I knew that it was now impossible for me to win a decision. Going into the sixth round, I was patient and waited to time his overhand right that he had been throwing every round. Sure enough, he threw it and I timed a picture perfect counter cross to the temple. Much to my surprise, he crumpled to the mat. BOOM! Flash KO! Fight over.
I was so giddy and excited to have won the world title! I laughed hysterically at the screen from excitement. I didn't think I stood a chance after losing the first five rounds. I guess, as Mickey Ward would say, that's why "you never give up at this game." :-) Thanks for reading this.
PS. Does anyone know if you can be stripped of the title for not fighting online in a while? Or will you always have your world title belt until you are legitimately beaten in an online fight? I hope it is the latter.
