LOL! You're right, DaveDQ. Just so everyone knows, I actually made two successful defenses of my belt last night. My first opponent was a real challenge. He won the first and second rounds and was an impressive sim-style boxer. I finally edged him in the third and felt like I was beginning to swing things. However, going into the eighth round, I had only a one point lead on Teddy Atlas' scorecard and I was really nervous because the fight had been a seesaw affair. Suddenly though, I began to open things up in the eighth and peppering him with counters that had not been there all night. I knocked him down three times and then finished him off in the ninth. Believe it or not, his record was only 17-20. I guess that just goes to show you that records can be misleading.

My second challenger was 42-8 with 38 KOs. He came in and boxed and countered and I was a little intimidated at first. Sticking to my jab however, I was able to cut angles and outwork him and then move away laterally. As the fight went on, it became pretty apparent that I was dominating. I think I had my most complete fight to date. I had won every single round going into the 8th and I had earned three knockdowns as well. However the eighth round is when things started to get a bit scary. Somehow, even though he was connecting at only 30 percent (which is a real achievement to manage that against your opponent in this game), he managed to open up two gruesome cuts on me. And I mean they were gruesome. I bled profusely all over the canvas. My corner and the announcers kept talking how the ref was going to stop it any minute. My damage was 95 percent. I was really worried that, in spite of how much of a lead I had on the scorecards and the fact that I almost had him knocked out, I was going to get stopped on a TKO. So I took the next two rounds off and let him win them just so I could preserve myself. Fortunately, both cuts were under the eyes and my cornermen were able to get them under control. Once the bleeding stopped, I came out and finished him off for a KO win in the 10th round.

I also had another two fights, but I guess the boxers were not ranked high enough because the belt was not on the line.

To answer someone else's question, I am on the PS 3. And I do think I should give every OS PS 3 user a shot to keep it in the family! Plus, it is so much more fun fighting sim-style boxers who take OWC seriously and do not cheese (which I imagine nearly all OSers are sim). Maybe we could even do videos, storylines, and promotion companies in roleplay fashion to go along with it like back in the original Fight Night on the IGN boards with Poetic and Mumra. I don't know if anyone of you were a part of that circa 2004.

The MW champ won the belt with a 78. Lets not assume. My HW is the result of a couple pre-order codes.

How do you invite someone to a match in OWC? I don't think it's possible. It seems that if you want to fight a friend and give him a shot at the title you pretty much just have to both try to find a fight and get lucky.

Sadly, at about 12:45 pm CST today, I finally lost the title after making fifteen successful defenses. The bout was an all out war and I knocked my opponent down twice before being floored for the third and final time myself. I went into the fight thinking I'd have no problem dispatching of him, but I suppose I was a little overconfident. Sorry, OSers! My title reign has ended. I'm currently working on regaining the belt because I would like to have a series of OS title fights. Perhaps someone in here will beat me to the belt though. If so, consider giving this former champ a shot. ;-)

BTW, the new champ is Chuck Norris. I suppose if you're going to lose the belt to anyone, it's best to lose it to Chuck Norris.

PS. I am now 34-3. My third loss came when I rematched the guy I beat to originally win the title. Needless to say, he was pretty hungry for revenge. He again won every round but this time he had tons of power behind his punches and shocked me by giving me my worst beating ever in route to a KO. After the fight was over, he seemed bewildered and he asked me, "What? Where's my belt?" ;-)

Thanks bro! I tell you though, being champ is an addiction. It gets into your bloodstream. I am obsessed with reclaiming my belt. I feel like Ali after the Spinks fight, doing roadwork and repeating over and over, "I got to get my title back." ;-)
