How are you getting such low body punch output from the AI? I just fought against B-Hop after tuning him to 100% headhunter, and he's still throwing at least 1/3 body punches! I wonder what would happen against a guy like Wlad who often throws ZERO body punches lol.

head 33/104 52/158
body 70/171 11/37 !!!
total 103/275 63/195
jab 20/54 34/102
straight 3/11 21/54
l hook 14/43 1/11
r hook 17/52 6/23
l upper 29/66 0/3

counter 1/4 6/6
2 kd's 0 kd's

gonna work on him being more productive, hopefully without throwing a ton more body shots .... but being more productive. we were both in the 30% range...Comment

Re: Fight Night Champion Title Update #2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 3
ok. try this for me....change the discrepancy in haglers punches greater. take the hooks down to like 5/6 clicks. increase the jab to like 35. the straight to like 60. and the uppercuts to like 4-6.
I made those changes and hagler threw to the head almost 4 to 1. Couple fights went the distance with me losing 1. But both included body punch numbers well below 100...
I also just had a fight in which I got a 1 punch knockout of hagler in the 4th round with pavlick. It was great! here are the stats
pavlick hagler
total 46/160 49/132
head 40/149 33/106
body 6/11 16/26
jab 28/107 15/42
straight 10/26 22/61
Pavlik was leading 48-45 on all cards after 5 rounds. His stamina was 73%, Hagler's was 63%, despite my higher punch output. Part of the problem is the CPU's tendency to throw a lot of power modifies. Many seem to land, but with ineffectual results even scoring wise.
I don't know if it's Hagler's default boxer/puncher setting (which he was obviously) but he's just too passive and not very scary. The two times I was hurt a simple backing up got me out of trouble. I question you knocking down any conditioning or endurance setting, as my stamina advantage was evident throughout the fight.Last edited by JayBee74; 07-06-2011, 07:00 PM.Comment

Although Hagler hurt me in the 1st and 5th round it was too easy to back him up, particularly when using the uppercut, which I didn't overuse. It just seems like he's always on the defensive. I (Pavlik) knocked him down in the 3rd, 4th, and final (6th) round.

Re: Fight Night Champion Title Update #2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 3
maybe it's just a matter of playstyle. your obviously much better than I am. somewhere between the skill and the way we play the game is netting opposite results. I've played this match several times and have had some varied results. I've been beaten, knocked out. I've won decisions and knocked him out. Something about the difference in how we play also seems to be seen in the huge discrepancy of head/body shots... i dunno...perplexed.
I'm just surprised that Hagler can land 53% of his power modifiers, out percentage me 56% to 37% and lose handily. (Although he did win the first two rounds).Comment

Re: Fight Night Champion Title Update #2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 3
lol. yeah that percentage deal is a killer. Do you remember what the stamina was looking like? he only threw 230 something punches right? My rationale in the stamina is just reducing the endurance so that they don't constantly engage in long stretch combo's. which will deplete even more overall stamina. But it's all some balancing act for a flawed system.Comment

Re: Fight Night Champion Title Update #2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 3
man....its a pain to do this for most of the roster...but tweaking the tendency sliders has at least made me semi enjoy the game again.....
Actually got beat by Chavez 2 times in a row the other day.....dude wore me down like he used to do during his career.....both times he had stamina advantage of 15-25 points.....He picked off a lot of my jabs made me waste a lot of punches
And after I adjusted the punching power and toughness sliders Im getting back the cuts and swelling......the 1st Chavez fight....I beat the hell out of his face......cut him on both sides of his face made his left eye swell shut with my 20 hook
But the dude kept on coming and actually beat me by a comfortable 5 rounds
Still, I think they broke even more sliders with the patch, specifically the Stamina and Damage Sliders....
And Its just so sad that the CABs and Legacy issues are still sucking the vast majority of life out of this game....Here We Go Steelers!!! Here We Go!!!
My CFB Teams: Marshall..WVU-Go Herd/Eeers!!!

Re: Fight Night Champion Title Update #2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 3
Decided to go a little radical. (EDIT)-all changes were from Hagler's original settings.
Body Snatcher*****************Head Hunter (90 to 100)
Counter Puncher****************** Aggressive (15 to 90)
Single Punches******************Combinations (Kept at 95)
Fast Punches********************Hard Punches (35 to 23)
Inside Fighter************************* Outside Fighter (62 to 40)
Pavlik (ME) won a grueling 95-94 majority decision. I kept him as a Boxer/Puncher, but the most drastic change was putting his aggression in overdrive (15 CP to 90 AGR). I didn't mess with any of Hagler's skills and kept his various punch frequencies the same. I might tweak his aggressiveness later, but it was a good fight. He kept coming at the end and stunned me with 10 seconds left in the fight.
His Boxer/Puncher style had him backing off at times, but with Aggressiveness up to 90 his more forward direction had him with a 49% to 41% stamina edge over Pavlik entering the 10th round.
I think any boxer/puncher needs more aggressiveness to have him forward more and backing up less.
Look at my counters 2-7-terrible.
Going more inside fighter (62 to 40) had something to do with his more forward movement too.Last edited by JayBee74; 07-07-2011, 07:51 PM.Comment

Anyone have any tips for how to find a Boxer's range? I want to "master" Lennox Lewis and sometimes will take some heavy blows trying to figure out the distance I need to keep to land the jabs and straights while avoiding the opposing boxer's punches.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Re: Fight Night Champion Title Update #2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 3
thanks for the explanations Jaybee regarding hagler....people need to play with the ratings to get the right mix. Now we know what to do to make boxer/punchers aggressive....
The game can really be good if every single boxer is edited like this...with 2 close rated fighters, you can get different outcomes and different feels in fights with playing the same matchups. In the past, if I used Holyfield and beat up and figured out Tyson, that's it, I'd win all of the matchups in the future. But the danger of stuns, knockdowns, flash knockouts, tiring out by missing too many punches keeps this game fresh.
I played 5 straight fights between Lennox and Holyfield. I am Lennox
W (decision)
L ( Ko)
W (flash KO)
L(decision)
L (decision)
maybe create a separate thread specifically for these edits for offline ?? because honestly, the game offline has some big-time potential with proper editing.Last edited by phillyfan23; 07-07-2011, 10:03 PM.Comment
