My friends tell me you have to run the lights at night and hope another car isn't coming through the intersection. It's odd because Hector Camacho Jr. posts on Twitter and I joked about it with him earlier this year when he said he was going for a run.
Hector Camacho was making huge strides in regaining his life. People tend to not let you escape your pass. Hector Camacho wasn't a murders or anything horrible. He just had an addiction and demons he was trying to get rid of. He seemed to be well on his way with his reality show and other projects he was working on.
So with the money and resources at his disposal, why choose to live in an incredibly dangerous place?

I wouldn't consider even what has happened to Muhammad Ali as being a tragedy because he willingly stepped into the ring and, I'm sure, understood the risks of constant blows to the head over the years. Tragedy would have been something like Ali losing his life in a car accident not of his own doing at the prime of his career.
Yes even in that situation it's a tragedy. Do I have sympathy for the gunman in that situation? No, he got what he deserved, but it's still a tragedy that his life was thrown away no matter who's decision it was to throw it away. It's a tragedy that some people have become so callous that life isn't valued the way it should be. How can what Muhammad Ali has become not be tragic because he knew the risks of boxing? By that logic a police officer killed in the line of duty isn't a tragic loss because he knew the risks of being a cop. If I get hit by a bus tomorrow, my death won't be tragic because I know the risks of crossing the street where a drunk driver could come along at any time.

So everything that is horribly bad that happens to people is a tragedy even if they knowingly enter a situation that has historically ended in negative consequences? A police officer can make attempts to reduce the risk of his chosen profession just like you can reduce the risk of crossing the street by looking both ways. The gunman's situation in that scenario (sympathy notwithstanding) is, again, senseless and inane, but not a tragedy.

We don't necessarily know along the way if Camacho had opportunities to avoid his most recent circumstances and didn't take them. I would wager that he did. Or at least he could have made opportunities for himself right here in the States that would not have had the same result. For example, he could have easily opened up boxing schools or even gyms/conditioning centers or inter-city youth programs. He would have done well.

Not sure if I'm following you. Isn't he from Puerto Rico? Why couldn't he open the same things in Puerto Rico vs the States?

Anyway, what good does it do to play the what if game? It's a bit late for that.

Camacho was one of the most gifted fighters I ever watched!! Talent to be an all time great! I put him & Tyson as the two most gifted boxers I watched live. The problem is that neither lived up to that potential. Nice careers but they should have been much more. Camacho had all the tools in the ring. Just a wonder to watch when he was young. Always kills me how guys in their 20's box once a year & then when those skills start to leave them, they box 6 times a year! I won't judge his life outside the ring. I know I enjoyed watching him a great deal. Rest in peace Hector.

This the same question most of the stars that live in Harlem and many cities in the USA.

The great Chavez(not his kid) certainly put a beating on Hector. To his credit Camacho took the beating to a decision, and I don't think he even went down.

                Spoiler

                Camacho was actually 40-1.
