LOL, I just wanted the opportunity to quote a more humble Floyd, although Hatton fought a decent fight that night.

Hatton fought more then a decent fight that night. Hatton caused Mayweather to stumble in the early rounds. And that was probably the best version of Floyd ever. when i think of prime Floyd, that was the fight. After that fight, Floyd took nearly 2 years off from the ring. On that night, it was a more fleet-footed version of Mayweather, that Mayweather moved around the ring more then he does now.

And still Hatton provided relentless aggression all night. and had Cortez not been so "firm", had Hatton been allowed to fight on the inside like in Guerrero Berto, it could have been a different fight. Hatton definitely fought a crowd pleasing style that made boxers fight. as far as his retirement, i think he's struggling with his decision. mentally, he had to make the decision to retire then and there, because he doesn't want to return to the dark places he went to following the Pacquiao loss. maybe he was doing too many interviews leading up to the fight with senchenko.

which part? the part about him doing too many interviews? what i meant there was that i believe Hatton didn't study his opponent enough, he kept doing interviews where they kept bringing up his past, and Hatton said countless times how he wanted the fans to be proud of him once again. (as if they weren't) it was a lot of pressure for Hatton, like he put all his eggs into one basket, and he felt like he had to win this fight or he'd be seen as a failure. and when you look at how emotional he got immediately after he lost, i think that shows.

it wasn't the same confident Hatton that we've seen in the past. his physical gifts, his movement, his punching power was still definitely there. but as usual he threw caution to the wind, and really the KO punch body shot didn't have to happen. before the fight, in his interviews, he kept saying he needed to put a few demons to rest. it was as if this one fight was his way to erase the past few years. and when he got stopped, he could hardly keep the tears from coming out.
