I disagree. I think they had the enthusiasm to create a realistic game, they just couldn't pull it off. I also think they did their homework, they just couldn't get in done.

You're a boxer (or former boxer?), and obviously have a great knowledge of the sport, but you couldn't translate that to a video game.

Unless the next generation PS4 is the holy grail of much better games and much better AI I think the solution for a better boxing game is to step back and make it simpler.

I have been going back and forth with these Fight Night producers for years behind the scenes. I have their personal e-mail addresses. They said their hands were tied for certain things in the game but they were not. I'm the reason in the created a boxer mode there are 100 hundred slots. They said it wasn't possible. I asked them for blood and they said it wasn't possible without getting a M rating. They got the M-rating and ran with it, hence the prison story. The blood being done wasn't implement correctly because the story mode was their main focus.
Fight Night could be one heck of a game if niches weren't their main focus. I challenge their decisions because many of them are theirs. There are a couple of guys here who went to EA community events and see how stubborn they can be. I refuse to give them excuses because I know their approach. I have like 8 to 9 e-mail and messages. They say casuals are the priority first, everything else is secondary.
EA has to stop saying casuals fans are first priority then expect hardcore fans of a sport to accept what they produce. EA has to take the NBA2k/visual concepts approach when making a sports game. They need to make the game for hardcore sports fans, the casuals will still buy.

*Don King's Prizefighter(Venom Games) was made by a outside company, not visual concepts.

I trained to box & sparred when I was young. Didn't actually have an amateur fight though. I think I box in the game fairly realistically. Rarely throw more than 70 punches a round. I'm not great believe me. I know when I'm dominating rounds though. Nobody who misses most of their punches & is outlanded by 20 punches should win a round.

The problem is the hardcores still buy the games. While they may not rave about the game...they still buy it and thats all EA cares about.

That isn't the case. Many of EA hardcore boxing fans didn't buy the game. Fight Night sales have gone down drastically. The game numbers are down. I told EA I wouldn't get the game unless they gave me a copy. My brother gave me his copy which I gave back after a month.

Ok I lost this round. He landed 27/77. I landed 49/82. Only difference was he landed 3/11 power punches. I landed none. I felt I was cruising. Ughgggggg!
