Well, someone in Wilder's inner circle talked some sense into him: https://twitter.com/MikeCoppinger/st...59329611091968

Nice to hear he's keeping Breland in his corner.

Out of 19 rounds, Fury has won at least 12 of those (I'd argue more like 15).

With that said, I agree with you that the third fight will be closer than the second; however, I just don't feel like Wilder deserves it.

Boring or not, I want to see a true unified champion again. I want my 90s heavyweights back dammit!!!

I agree, and also feel like Fury figured him out at the end of the first fight. I don’t think Wilder has much of a chance against him outside of landing a haymaker. Fury outboxed him the first go around, and still hadn’t even figured out what he did by the 12th in that fight. Carried that into fight number 2 and it looked so easy for him. He’s in a completely different class IMO.

I’d rather see him get a fight with AJ.

Well, July 18 @ MGM Grand will get the third (and hopefully final) bout between the two giants. Betting is already favoring Wilder to win...people really love that right hand.

Not really. Fury is the favorite.

It will vary depending on what betting site you look at but it will probably stay pretty close to this up to fight time. There is some early money on Wilder which is keeping the price closer then a lot of people think it should be.

That's funny...I looked at the line about 10 hours ago and it was almost completely opposite. My assumption is people are hoping for a big pay day with Wilder, but with a lot of people thinking that way, the winnings will be low.

On this popular betting site, Wilder's underdog status goes up a bit from what I posted yesterday.

You're essentially getting 2-1 on Deontay ($200 PROFIT on a $100 bet) which is probably attractive enough on those who would bet on Wilder bombs.

Wilder has a chance if Fury goes back to being undisciplined and frankly he doesn't sound to enthusiastic about this third fight...It would not surprise me one bit if they pay Wilder to step out of the way for a fight with Joshua...If Fury is disciplined and trains the way he did for this fight he is going to put a hurting on Wilder again who wont be fully recovered mentally or physically from this last fight..Pride will get you hurt and making more excuses will poke the bear again..and he literally is making no changes in his training or corner..definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results..good luck to my man though this loss has effected his psyche more than I thought..

it's scary how good fury is now after he got his life back in order.....he looked so relaxed before the wilder rematch. if he has the same mindset and training camp for the 3rd fight, should be another easy one unless wilder lands a perfect punch (which we thought he did in the first fight, but fury GOT UP and weathered the storm). really can't wait for the biggest fight in british history to crown the undisputed heavyweight champion. don't make the same mistake as pac-mayweather, make the fight NOW.

Wow, was not expecting that result...especially after the first two rounds. Kownacki was lighting Helenius up, but when Helenius realized how Kownacki was executing, he countered with the short rights. And that first knockdown was not a slip...the straight right put him down. It was all downhill from there for Kownacki.

Looking further now, AJ should have a pretty easy title defense against Helenius because there won't be such a distinct size advantage.

Kind of refreshing to hear Helenius say he got lucky with a couple of hard punches but Kownacki's style leaves him open at any moment's notice, and he got beat up in those final seconds.

AJ impressed me by changing tactics to win the rematch against Ruiz but he didn't look very strong. Is he fighting Helenuis next?

The first couple rounds, I couldn't believe Helenius was the same man who stopped a nightmarish Sam Peter. He looked shot.
But as you and JayBee stated, Kownacki's style leaves him open to getting caught.
At times, he fights like my children. Just windmilling and moving forward the entire time, lol.
I don't blame Kownacki for that style though. In an era of monsters, smaller guys have to pressure to get inside.

I'd LOVE to see Kownacki fight Ruiz. Maybe it can be promoted by Krispy Kreme?
All kidding aside, I really would like to see that fight.

AJ is fighting Pulev in June. The way the elimantor works, doesn't mean Helenius is the next match (or the one after next), it just means Helenius is guaranteed an opportunity for a title shot.
