I'm a GGG fan, and not a Ward fan, but GGG would have all he could handle in that one. For starters Ward's ring savvy and Golovkin's power transition from 160 to 168.

Ward, is known for being a gym rat though, and he always stays around his fighting weight, so i doubt he'll be out of shape. Also, quality of opponents>activity. Quality over quantity.

I would disagree. He beat Frosh over 4 years ago. Since then a weight drained Chad Dawson, and Edwin Rodriguez. Still trying to figure out why Dawson took that fight at 168. GGG hasn't exactly been annihilating bums.

Ward is good, but there is nothing in his current trajectory to suggest he's poised to be in optimum fighting shape RIGHT AWAY. Needs a tuneup bad.

^GGG hasn't been fighting all bums, but overall mostly c level fighters. I would still say quality and experience is greater than activity. I'd still be interested in seeing him fight chavez jr since they both seem interested in that now.

And i agree ward needs a tune up, i was just saying he's not one of those guys who seems to balloon up in weight and get way out of shape between fights.

Ward is still slick and would have a reach advantage on GGG. He would make him pay a heavy price to fight inside and at 168 has the pop to test GGG's chin when he got there before sliding away. That's is if he is the same boxer he was a few years ago.

I just pissed we haven't been able to see Ward fight as often.

I don't know about heavy price. Ward's a sharp puncher, but not a heavy hitter. GGG will be deterred by Ward's slickness, not his power. (IMO)

Would like to see it, but I don't think either fighter is heavily motivated for each other.

I think for ward he would actually like that fight, i'm pretty sure GGG wouldn't mind the fight but he's not gonna rush to jump up in weight to fight ward. I know he said he wanted to clean out his division first, but then he turned around and said he would fight chavez jr at a higher weight class so it's kinda unclear.

It would be the hardest fight for GGG to possibly take, and the second hardest for Ward. I think Kovalev would offer the hardest fight for him at this point, and he's bigger.

I don't think the money is there yet. I would pay $50 to see Ward-GGG or Ward-Kovalez, but the boxing guys probably couldn't get either fighter past the $3 million mark.

By the way I like Ward a lot (great boxing analyst), just not my style as a fighter. I mostly like punchers now, although my favorites early on were a somewhat mixed bag- Ali, Leonard, Monzon, Foster, M.Spinks and Hearns.

But if he beats Kovalez he has a new fan...... (me).

I think that Ward has enough pop to stun a guy moving up 8 lbs to fight him. As far as the price I'm talking about eating jabs, straight, and the toll that can take on your eyes, nose and such. Swell an eye, and make the nose fill with blood, a lot harder to do your thing.

i think GGG is like Kovalev in a way. it's seems that all of the knockouts have caused alot of folks to overlook their superior technical skills....just my opinion.

Both are more than power that's for sure.

Yeah, I could see Ward keeping him off balance with some shots, but he would have to deal with GGG's hunter mode.

Alvarez-Kirkland moved to May 9th at Minute Maid Park in Houston because of Floyd-Pac. The Alamodome was not available May 9th.

The WBA has ordered a rematch between Ward and Froch that of course will not happen.

Bernard Hopkins says he will drop down to 168 to face Frosh.

Matthysse and Provodnikov face off in April.

matthysse and provodnikov are fighing on the same date as chavez jr and fanfora, they'll both be good matches, but i'm definitely more interested in seeing matthysse and provodnikov, that's gonna be a war, but i see matthysse winning that, he's a better boxer than some give him credit for, he's not JUST a brawler like provodnikov. Either way, i doubt it goes the distance.

Also watched frampton destroy alboras, good showcase. I really hope he fights rigondeaux or santa cruz(who seriously needs to fight somebody good).
