Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Fury is a joke. Dude is trying to make a name for himself at HW while fighting Cruiserweights. And he still got put on the canvas. I would actually pay money to watch one of the Klitchko's knock him the **** out.Moderator

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
The only reason he won that fight is because he was able to use his 50lbs to lay on Cunningham and sap him of energy.
He would get absolutely crushed by the KO bro's. And as much as Fury doesn't deserve a shot, I absolutely need to see him get demolished by a fighter who's just as big and with skill.
I bet he fights Huck or Adamek next. It definitely won't be a legit super-heavyweight with any sort of skill.Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Nah.
Though he isn't on the level on the Klits, it is ignorant to discount he stopped a world class fighter that has never been stopped, ate a good shot and still showed the guts to keep going, and he fought an athletic, fast fighter and still was able to get off his jab. For a 6'9 guy, that is impressive. But most importantly, putting on an entertaining show was more important than fighting smart to him (not having his uncle may be the reason). Fury has a lot to work to do, but calling him a bum or a fraud is laughably incorrect.
What can be taken away from this fight is:
1. there is a reason there is a cruiserweight division and why most of them are carefully matched when they make the jump
2. Fury still has a lot to work to do and talking trash and not using his size from a jab standpoint won't work at the highest level
3. And there is a reason why boxers take a natural progression...Price, Mitchell, Fury...boxing is a whole different beast when you step up. You can't clown around and think you are just going to walk over upper tier fighters.Comment

Cunningham did not fight nipples. All of USS losses were disputed in title fights except for the headbutt.Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Fury setup his knockout right with a back-hand left forearm. dude is nothing but a caveman swinging a club. either Klitschko brother would beat him convincingly without breaking a sweat.Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Up till the 6th round, Cunningham was beating him pretty good. For a cruiserweight with very little power, he was able to floor Fury and sting him on multiple occasions.
Fury is Valuev with a better right-hand.
The first time he fights a legit heavyweight who weighs more than 230lbs, he'll be in trouble.
If that soft chin of his can't withstand a good counter from a 210-pounder with no power, then what on earth is he going to do when someone with true HW power connects?
I can see that long, ugly, gimp body going TIM-BURRRR in a hurry.Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Didn't know that. The fight will be shown by ShoTime on tape delay. That fight should be starting soon. Khan's brother made his pro debut on the same card, winning his fight.
The main undercard fight is over between Deontay Wilder 28-0 (28 KOs) and Audley Harrison 31-7 (23 KOs).

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Sergio was hit too many times "moving out of trouble" with his hands down. He was fortunate.. the fight could have gone either way.
His left hand might have been broken. At his age with his hands and knee problems he might consider retirement.
Meanwhile Bermane Stiverne gave Chris Arreola a pretty good battering.Comment
