Shocked at the margain there, but I guess Maidana missing on so many punches hurt him in the long run.

EDIT: Ironic, that Maidana says Floyd doesn't fight like a man yet he give Floyd a couple low blows and that almost tumble into the crowd.

I hate that the guy is killing his good showing with that "he doesn't fight like a man" nonsense.

There's being confident about how you did, then there is being a sore loser. If he would've landed more shots, things might have changed, but throwing so many misses is on him, not Floyd.

I had him winning only 3 as well. He threw 400 more punches than Floyd yet was still outlanded by Floyd.

So he missed some punches. He was roughing Floyd up, especially early in the fight. Sore Loser? One judge scored it a draw.

It was a close most rounds, I gave Maidana 1,3,5 and maybe 11, so 3 or 4 rounds

Then why not just say "I feel I won the fight." I can get with that as it was a close fight. But that whole "he doesn't fight like a man" stuff is what makes him come off as sounding like a sore loser.

                          I agree. I misunderstood you.

EDIT: I'm not going to quibble about the margin. I have no problem with the decision. I'll watch it again... for some reason I couldn't tape it. I'll wait for the replay next week.

I scored it 8 rounds to 4 Floyd Mayweather as well. And all four of those rounds I awarded to Maidana early in the fight. From the sixth round on, I had FM pitching a shut out.

Maidana demonstrated tonight that if you punch with FM you can disrupt his rhythm. When Chino was going forward and throwing combinations, even though he was missing a lot, he was keeping FM off balance and controlling the fight. One of these days Money's habit of laying on the ropes is going to get him caught cold by a punch (ala Roy Jones Jr. vs Tarver in the second fight). I think tonight showed that his reflexes have diminished enough that he can't expect to be able to still roll under shots while leaning against the ropes like he could five or six years ago.

While the fight was more competitive than many, including myself, thought (I imagined FM would win ten or eleven rounds), there was still no doubt about who the winner was. This fight in no way merits a rematch. It made me sick that immediately afterwards both Mayweather and Maidana as well as Schaeffer talked about doing it all over again in September.

If there was any doubt as to whether or not Floyd was avoiding Manny, it's gone now. There is literally no one left to fight. He has to step in the ring with Pac-man or there will be an asterisk next to his name when it is inevitably written down in the record books. The thing is the Mayweather who fought Canelo would beat Pacquiao convincingly, but the Mayweather who showed up tonight? I'm not so sure.

Good fight! Mayweather showed he can fight any fight, even a brawl(although he did that with chop chop corely waay back in the day), and those body punches he threw were vicious. Maidana definitely deserves props, he kept coming and was relentless, which isn't easy to do against a counter puncher like floyd. Floyd won the fight though, he landed waay more precise accurate punches, maidana did a good job crowding and roughing him up some, but a lot of his flurries were not landing. He had some nice overhand shots here and there though. I wouldn't mind a rematch, but i kinda would rather see floyd fight a new opponent since he doesn't have many fights left. I guarantee in a rematch the fight won't be as competitive, same thing happened with castillos rematch.

Nice summary, although i would say the mayweather who fought maidana tonight would definitely beat the pacquiao who beat bradley recently. Pacquiao wasn't really that aggressive in that fight and boxed more, maidana was more active and aggressive than pacquiao was by far. Both May and Pac have lost some of their attributes with age, but mayweather is a far better boxer, and i feel like pacquiao beat bradley in their last match, but not by a landslide, i had it 115, 113 pacman.
