so to me the true score was something like 8-4 or even 7-5, because thats the reality of what happened.

but i felt that maidana only truly won 2 or 3 off his own merits. and the rest of the rounds he stole or appeared to steal were purely the an illusion that floyd wanted the world to see. and thats where the 10-2 or 9-3 came in.

hopefully this clears my post up a bit...
Yeah, thanks for the clear-up, but Floyd just wasn't at his best (IMO).

Renowned Mayweather Critic Skip Bayless had it 115-113 Floyd, as did Steven A Smith.*

    *totally useless information

EDIT: I missed the part where Maidana was 17 pounds heavier than Floyd at fight time.

Not only 17lbs heavier, but rehydrated 21 lbs. Kind helps you walk into a guy, push him around and then say his shots never hurt you.

Taj, I don't think Floyd "let" Marcos do what he did in the early rounds, I think he couldn't really stop him, but training to get to 147 when you are apparently a guy who walks around at 168 will wear you out in the later rounds. I had Maidina winning round 1, 3, 4, and 5. Nothing after that, his work rate slowed and he struggled to keep Floyd on the ropes.

        Re: Boxing Off-Topic

I look at it like this, as talented as floyd is, it is possible that he could of decided to go toe to toe with maidana more, i mean he said several times before the fight that this fight would be different and that he wouldn't fight maidana the same way he fought canelo or guerrero. But maidana definitely pushed the pace too, and didn't really let floyd get set or comfortable as much. I think it's a combination of both. Also i was surprised at maidana coming in weighing that much, that definitely helped him, but don't people say he's really a lightweight? How the hell did he gain that much weight, really didn't expect him to rehydrate that much.

And as for diaz, he still had 2 losses and a draw before the thurman fight and was coming from a year layoff since the khan fight, not to mention he's only gotten older. I'd definitely be interested to see him vs shawn porter on a possible mayweather maidana undercard. How come nobody mentions shawn porter vs floyd? He's beaten better opponents than keith has(easily beat devon alexander, and destroyed malignagi)

It'll be interesting to see Deontay Wilder in there with a decent heavyweight finally.

Adrien Broner was suspended by the WBC for that post fight interview.

Wait, what? I get that what he said, was stupid but since when are we suspending fighters for being stupid during post fight interviews?

I don't think anything was made of Bernard Hopkins when he publicly told Calzage that "he'd never let a white boy beat him".

I bring this up because Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer brought up Hopkins as someone who could be a "Great coach in that regard". [to Broner]

The Clippers thing has set a zero tolerance for this kind of thing. It looks like the WBC is waiting for an apology, which Broner should do ASAP.

I'm a little embarrassed that I missed the subject of Broner's comment. I referred to it in this thread but I thought Grey was getting on to Broner for his F-Bombs. It probably was a combo of both.

Nah, they said it was for racially insensitive remarks.

We can't get to it on OS, but I didn't find his remarks racially insensitive I found them stupid because he was trying to be funny and failed miserably. I mean had he said instead how fighters of that culture tend to be hard guys to knock out, because of their heart and determination it would be okay, but because he said he beat the **** out of one its racially insensitive?

Again we really can't go too much further because of the TOS, but it seems like an massive over-reaction to nothing IMO.
