Re: Boxing Off-Topic
I'm still seeing some updates on the muay thai game that's been in development for a long time - it's only a couple guys working on it, but it's looking good in spots... here are a few videos they put up in the past few months...
facebook has a video not on youtube as well showing they have 'shark' shorts presumably as a sponsor
To me the player models look as good as the UFC undisputed games which is a good thing. Some of the motion looks a bit jerky, maybe in part because it's 30fps? Overall though I don't get why they don't just do a kickstarter campaign, the game could be out and done by now, but at this rate it will be another 4+ years!Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Museums like that often have little booths trying to sell pics of you inside with some props. The criticism of Broner for that is nitpicking.Comment

Meanwhile Adrien still has his "victory chains" totaling $120K.

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Keith Thurman versus Luis Collazo Saturday night and what looks to be a decent undercard bout between Tony Harrison (21-0, 18 KOs) and Willie Nelson (23-2-1, 13 KOs).
Last year Collazo was held, hurt and frustrated by Amir Khan, but he's a pretty tough guy. Only been Koed once, and that was 13 years ago.

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
I expect Thurman to win and hurt him quite a few times during the fight. He might even stop him. Looks like Wlad vs Fury is a go. Rooting for Fury but think Wlad takes it because of his jab and straight right hand. Should be an entertaining build up

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
I think Thurman will KO him. One-time is a KO machine.
I hate Tyson Fury, but I wouldn't mind if he won just to shake up the heavyweight division a bit. It's so mind-numbingly boring up at 200+....Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Thurman was hurt bad by that body shot in the 5th making for an interesting fight until Collazo quit because of the eye. Keith absorbed it and used his athleticism to get through the round, but you wonder if a better opponent could have really caused Thurman problems. Still, it's only the second time Collazo was stopped.
Harrison-Nelson was lackluster until the surprising finish in the 9th. I forget what fight I saw Nelson in. I was reminded of him when they mentioned he had switched trainers, dumping Pavlik's first trainer Jack Loew.Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Yeah, serious chinks in the Thurman armor in that fight. 30 more seconds or a fighter more in his prime, and he probably goes down there (if not out). I give Thurman credit for gutting it out in that round after what looked to be a pretty withering liver shot that would have KO'd half the fighters in the division, but that was just sloppy to leave himself wide open like that.
Weird ending to the fight, though. I know it wouldn't have mattered whether the doctor stopped the fight or the fighter quit on his stool, but still - if the fighter says he can't see, I feel like the doctor should stop the fight. That's sort of his job, after all - protecting the safety of the fighters.
Also, Teddy Atlas was way too harsh on Collazo in my opinion - I know everyone is disappointed to see the fight end that way, but if the guy can't see, it's just dangerous to be out there. You can't second-guess these guys, especially since it's not like Collazo has been known to be a quitter or anything. I thought we were (rightfully) moving away from this "macho" fight-until-you're-dead mentality in boxing, but I guess there are still some old-school guys hanging on. I know I'm part of the problem honestly, since I love it when slug-fests and wars turn into a guy gutting it out after being out on his feet (i.e. Bradley-Provodnikov), but I'd never criticize a guy for stopping a fight if he felt he was in danger.
I actually really like Atlas - he's one of my favorite boxing commentators. I just think he was wrong last night to essentially question Collazo's heart.Comment
