Every boxer should vow to never pay another sanctioning fee. De La Hoya as s promoter should STFU.

Catchweight? Can Canelo even make 147 at this point?
Great fight if it were to happen at 150.

I had dreams of Ward and Canelo at something between 160-168, but alas I doubt I get to see that one.

Not sure Ward could make a catchweight between those two numbers.

Yeah, as soon as he announced he was going to light heavy I knew it was over. Any of the large swaths of time he was inactive and still a Super Middle would've been perfect.

Ward would make that an uglier version of Floyd/Canelo. No thanks. I do really want to see him for Kovalev or Stevenson soon.

Today's the day ya'll, i'm ready for this. I'm gonna take canelo by late stoppage or decision. Also, good to know that rigondeux will be on the undercard, he deserves to shine on a big fight like this.

I want to say Cotto, but I think this goes the distance and Canelo wins by decision

I would prefer Rigondeux to shine against someone that might give him a fight. This guy does have some power but he's ranked #12 in the Philippines!! Not interested in seeing Rigondeux in a glorified exhibition. (But will watch it because.....$70!!)

Factoring in Sergio Martinez's obvious decline, what has Cotto done under his new trainer? He's overvalued at this point and his progression under Roach should only be evaluated by this fight. Unless Cotto becomes really slippery I expect a solid decision for Canelo, if not a late KO.

I'm just glad the judges scored the fight the way should it should have been. Canelo outpowered and outfought Cotto all night long.

Very true, i felt the same way, canelo actually fought better opposition in his last 4 fights than cotto imo.

This was a good card, i enjoyed all of it. Canelo looked great, the guy is a bit more slippery than a lot of people think, he actually has an ok defense, his head movement is nice. But yeah, glad the judges made the right call, i think the scoring was a TAD bit wide, but overall, good decision.

Hope canelo really wants GGG like he said.

Vargas/Miura was really good, particularly since Vargas completely turned the tables on an in control Miura by knocking him out in the 9th. But it wasn't that simple because Vargas had done the hurting at the beginning of the fight.

Rigondeaux's potshotting victory over unranked Drian Francisco was a little more exciting then watching paint dry. There was talk of a Rigondeaux/Roman Gonzalez "meet at weight" of 118. I think I heard Lampley or Max/Roy say that Guillermo was willing but I could be wrong.

Ticked off at Canelo for demanding that GGG fight for the middleweight belt at 155 because HE'S the champ.
Everyone knows GGG is the real 160 champ.
And last time I checked, the middleweight limit was 160 lbs.

The WBC, WBA, etc... need to start stripping fighters if they refuse to fight at the divisions legal weight limit.

Canelo is a coward. If you're scared to go north of 155, then stay at JR Middleweight.
Otherwise be a fighter and FIGHT.

I think it's blatantly clear that Alvarez is scared to death of GGG.
Just vacate the belt, move down and wait for Golovkin to get old so you can finally work up the stones to fighting him.

I just wish some of the press and those running boxing challenged Alvarez on that.
Force him to fight at the limit or strip him of the belt.
