On the outside looking in, I don't think Stevenson wants any part of Krusher. Especially after that performance.
I don't think Stevenson wants to fight Krusher either unless some ridiculous money comes on the table.

I believe the Showtime-HBO thing is thawing. "Promoter Hopkins" was alluding to that post fight.

Ward wouldn't even fight Chad Dawson at a catchweight, so a 175 battle with Kovalez isn't even at the hypothetical level . While Andre continues to lose in court against the Goossen family, one has to wonder if he wants to fight anybody.

Yep the Stevenson fight isnt going to happen. He's Showtime exclusive and now is a Haymon fighter so he wont fight the HBO exclusive Kovalev. Both will just tread water unless Ward wants to move up to LHW.

Artur Beterbiev is going to be a factor sooner or later. He beat Kovalez twice in the amateurs and destroyed Tavoris Cloud six weeks ago. Unfortunately nobody is going to be running to fight him either.

I think a lot of people underestimated Kovalez's technical skill. Hopkins didn't. He acknowledged it before the fight.

I was VERY impressed with him against Cloud. Definitely one to keep your eye on. Like you said though nobody is going to want to fight him right now.

Interesting fact that many of you might have already come across.

Kovalev landed 38 punches in the final round, the most ever against Hopkins in 41 fights tracked by CompuBox.

^Wow, that's impressive in 2 ways, the fact that kovalev broke that record, and the fact that 38 punches is the highest landed on him, that's not that high. Kovalev actually had hopkins hurt pretty bad in the final round, hadn't seem him hurt like that before.

You know one thing that irritated me during the fight? Harold Lederman at one point said something stupid like "I don't get why kovalev doesn't just let loose,if i were coaching the guy i would just tell him to go out there and throw, don't even think about anything just keep punching and get him out of there". One of the dumbest things i ever heard. Especially since the way Kovalev was fighting was working fine, and was very effective.

Harold Lederman seems like a nice guy, but he lost his mind several years ago imo.....his score cards leave me baffled mass majority of the time. his card was correct saturday night, but he rarely seems to score a fight close. you could have 2 guys going punch for punch in a phonebooth and he'd have someone winning 118 - 110 LOL!

Yeah, Lederman ought to stick with just scoring the fight.

Other curious points in the fight:

Kovalez trying to touch gloves with Hopkins at the end of the first round. He just knocked B-Hop down, got the 10-8, and you go for a friendly gesture? Hopkins ignored it.

At the end of the 4th Roy Jones talking up how frustrated Kovalez is by not being able to land the right to the head and how this is the fight Hopkins wants. Lampley says "Perhaps true, but I don't think Kovalez has lost a round yet.".

Oscar, if you are really B-Hop's friend, why are you encouraging a catchweight fight with GGG?

^Money. If hopkins is gonna fight again, i think he should stay at his class. Yeah, he's a freak of nature and far from an ordinary old man, but trying to fight at that low of a weight class when he hasn't been there in a long time could be a big mistake.

Welterweight titleholder Manny Pacquiao is in the final preparations for his upcoming defense against junior welterweight titlist Chris Algieri, but he made it very clear what he wants next should he be victorious.

I think I heard the GGG camp say that fight wouldn't take place over 168. Hopkins would take Floyd at 160, but not GGG.

Saw the First Take angle on it. Bayless of course thinks Floyd is plain scared of Pac, now Stephen A. is even wondering.

I'm just trying to figure out the rationale behind NOT fighting Pac because it would make him money. I know Floyd Sr made the "poor Pac, walking the streets scenario", but it's hard to imagine it wasn't part of the "Mayweather Brands'" message.

convincing KO by W. Klitschko.....but....some may think i'm going out on a limb here, but i think Wilder will absolutely destroy him if they ever meet in the ring. his pushing/shoving tactics won't work vs Deontay. plus, Pulev was able to land 3 or 4 decent right hands. if those were Wilder's right hands? fight over.

Pulev didn't feel the need to block those left hooks.

Klitschko won't have any problem waiting to see if Stiverne can deal with Wilder, so he doesn't have to. That being said Wilder hasn't faced anyone close to Wladimir's level. But Wilder is a powerhouse.

The big guy might just take the Povetkin retirement setup ($17.5 million) and forget about it.
