As PK pointed out, Solido wanted nothing to do with a Lomo rematch.
He knew he got away with one in their initial bout.
Lomo would have humbled him a 2nd time around.

Still....why not take a pay day? That's by far the highest profile fight he can conceivably get at this point. It's easy enough to promote (even though in-the-know fans like you guys won't be fooled by the "revenge" angle). Why bash with palookas for chump change when he can (likely get beat badly) for serious cash, with an outside shot at raising his profile?

Maybe he's made really good investments and doesn't need the money at this point.....

he was asking for too much money from what i read.....either way, he was more than humbled by roman but could have been just as easily humbled by lomo and at least gotten a nice payday before he retired.

the points deducted from the low blows alone should have been enough to lose that fight....but then again, who cares about a perfect record anyways. in hindsight, that loss made lomo the relentless fighter he is today.

So, yeah, let's make it happen so both Mayweather and Davis will STFU after Davis gets outclassed.
I don't think he's necessarily overhyped, but he couldn't beat Lomachenko. Mayweather won't pull the trigger for that bout anytime soon unless Lomo's stunning ability translates to PPV numbers.

Jeff Horn wins big this morning (my CST time) to set up a 147 launching pad for Terence Crawford.

Saunders vs Lemieux is on HBO Saturday night. The betting public has this as a dead even fight but I think Lemieux is too strong for Saunders.

I agree. I would go with lemieux. Crawford will destroy horn if that is horn's next fight. Only my opinion of course.

so funny because if i remember correctly, they both had choice comments about the fight with floyd, but after all that money that was made, have now changed their tune...

Manny is not trying to fight Crawford. He is trying to stay far away.

The Teddy Atlas Era is just about over at ESPN:

The article didn't say (or I missed) why, exactly, he's being removed.

He's been increasingly unhinged of late, but with Teddy you take the good with the bad. I don't understand his point half the time and his technical analysis has been getting worse, but I still largely enjoy him as a color guy and appreciate that he calls out BS when he sees it. I also like that he's not afraid to accuse the sport of rank corruption, unlike pretty much everyone else in the game.

Maybe it's cost-cutting at ESPN. Either way, I'm sure there's room for him at one of the premium cable channels somewhere if ESPN no longer desires his services.

I love Teddy. His book was terrific too.
                                Hopefully someone hires him.
