I have zero respect for that.
and he has zero respect for the sport of boxing.....de la hoya (albeit with losses on his record) had a better overall career and literally took on every big fight possible. he took on legends (chavez and whitaker), dangerous punchers (trinidad and vargas), speed punchers (mosley), went up to take on a legend (hopkins), took the huge payday against a prime floyd (and almost beat him), and took on a prime manny (who retired him).

Some more boxing nonsense as Wilder's team offers $50 million to Joshua for a heavyweight title fight.

        Monopoly Money??

I'm down to watch a Khan-Broner fight. Its not anything special as far as the landscape of the boxing world but hell put in on the Joshua-Wilder undercard and drive more interest in that fight.

I agree but the very young Floyd was about boxing..Remember he beat the snot out of a dangerous Corrales when no one else would fight him..At some point Floyd simply learned the game and the art of being the bad guy to make money..He learned the crazier you act the more they will want to see you lose and the more money you can make...The fans who paid for his matches are the ones that go taken..Trust me he is laughing all the way to the bank..McGregor, Broner, Wilder, and Charlo brothers are taking that same page out his book...Something is working McGregor just got paid 100 mil and Broner just got paid 1 mil for fighting a B level fighter and coming off a loss..And he will get paid again the viewership for his for his fight with Vargas was off the charts..Wilder is about to get an easy 20 mil..It's not boxing it's marketing..Thats why I respect the GGG's, Jacobs, Spences, and Crawfords of the boxing game..Its about respect and winning for them....I have to quote what someone said "if someone paid you 100 million to fight an amatuer boxer you wouldn't take it?....(floyd vs Mc Gregor)..its sad but it's reality ..Ali was a trash talker but respected the game and fought all comers that's why he is the greatest...Oh and you haven't seen anything yet get prepared for Floyd vs McGregor II that first one was a setup for the second one..Both were somewhere laughing at everyone who watched that fight..Guaranteed they are thinking of even crazier ways to hype the fight...

Arguably his greatest victory. Castillo, the margin of victory and other things hurt the chances for a rematch.

You mean because Mayweather lost the first Castillo fight?

It isn’t mentioned much but I totally agree I thought Castillo beat him too.

that fight should have at least been a draw in my opinion (although i thought castillo did enough to win)....floyd's strategy to slug with castillo clearly did not work and he never fought a fight like that again. p.s. if de la hoya doesn't forget his jab later in their fight, he wins. floyd had no answer for his jab and oscar was scoring pretty much at will with it. which is also probably the reason there was never a rematch.

it's sad but floyd will most likely be remembered for his mcgregor fight and not his undefeated record....and conor, well, his career was going fine until the floyd fight and now his belt was stripped, he injures some fighters in a post press conference fiasco and who knows where his career goes now. probably like you said, a rematch with floyd in the octagon, with no promotion from the ufc or dana (which wouldn't be by ufc rules anyways).

                        HBO World Championship Boxing

Daniel Jacobs vs. Maciej Sulecki *
Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller vs. Johann Duhaupas

Duhaupas (37-4, 24 KOs) built up his record by fighting Frenchmen and was KOed by Wilder and Povetkin. If "Big Baby" loses this one his career goes back 20 spaces.

Of minor note Sulecki has only 10 KOs in 26 bouts but 7 of them have come in his last 8 fights. *

Tough fight for Jacobs. Picture perfect punch on the knockdown. Charlo vs Jacobs would be good. Lots of good fights could be made in the future in this weight class.

Which Charlo? "Mell" or "Mall" or either? I have to go with either now that "Mall" is a middleweight too.

Yeah, for sure. It will be an entertaining bout, and at the end of the day, that's all that really matters. The boxing landscape is littered with too much political detritus to ever get to a point where the bouts that should be made get made with regularity, so lacking that, just put fun bouts together. There were essentially no broader implications to the Gatti-Ward fights, the Bradley-Provodnikov fight, or the Berto-Ortiz bout, but all were highly entertaining affairs and that's really all that matters.

I feel like this gets mentioned a lot. It's definitely controversial (at least among people that follow boxing).
