I hate Kellerman, but I will listen to what he has to say about boxing only. That's the one subject he has any credibility on, IMO.Comment

DAZN is backed by a Russian businessman worth 10 figures. Plus DAZN only is a start-up in the USA. It's an established streaming service in Europe and Asia, with rights to the NFL, major soccer, MotoGP and other sports in many nations.Xbox Live: pk4425Comment

Close fight, but I had Ugas winning 115-113. Definitely could have gone either way, so I'm not going to argue with the decision. Porter looked "off". Fought sloppy and didn't fight his fight.Comment

Ugas looked huge, though. Looked like he was easily 160+ by fight time.
On a different note, after watching the Mansour-Ajagba fight, I think boxing should adopt a Super Heavyweight division. Maybe make Heavyweight have a 225 lb weight limit.
I think it would actually be a highly entertaining division too.
I know I'm against all these middling weight classes, but IMO, this one makes sense.
There's no way guys built like Mansour can compete against some of these 6'5"+, 250lb+ monsters.Last edited by Money99; 03-11-2019, 10:31 AM.Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
A dreadfully boring fight until Smith caught Bivol with a right at the exact end of the 10th. Bivol was a little shaken and caught another good right in the 11th but Smith decided to take the 12th off.
Bivol is a little too cautious and will have his hands full with Kovalez, Gvozdyk, Beterbiev, or Alvarez.Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
It would have been madness for Porter to try and bull his way inside Ugas, who had a huge height and reach advantage. Ugas could have used his jab all night to repulse Porter's advances if Porter decided to use his usual, inside "junkyard dog" strategy.
I think it was smart for Porter and his dad to decide to use more boxing, moving in and out. But the problem is, and we saw it Saturday, Shawn Porter isn't that good at that style. So he will struggle against any big welterweight.
The most recent fights of Porter and Thurman prove that Haymon's poster boys at 147 aren't elite. They're both B+-level fighters behind the A-level of Crawford, Spence and Mikey Garcia at that weight class.
I'd love to see Porter or Thurman against Pacquiao. That's a very fun, competitive fight against guys with similar skills at this point of their respective careers.
And I definitely want to see Ugas again. A bit less clowning and a bit more work, and he's a tough out for anyone at 147.Xbox Live: pk4425Comment

I thought Ugas won as well. I wonder if Porter was feeling it due to his weight issues.

Cruiserweight is the red-headed stepchild of boxing, at least in the U.S. Quick: Name me one elite American cruiser the public has cared about since Evander Holyfield. You can't. Steve "U.S.S." Cunningham doesn't count.
Nobody wants to stay at cruiser anymore. Just look at Usyk -- he moved to heavyweight the second he cleaned out cruiser.
So eliminate cruiser and expand light heavyweight to 175-225. Then make heavyweight 225+.
Problem solved. Sure, that will put a lot of guys around 175 at a disadvantage. But it will be fascinating to see how big light heavies would fare against guys who weigh 220. And it also will keep all the big boys fighting against each other instead of seeing 300-pounders like Big Baby Miller fighting against a dude who weighs 220.Xbox Live: pk4425Comment

Boxing doesn't need another weight class. There's another solution -- eliminate cruiserweight.
