It works to his detriment but it is as if Wilder doesn't realize when his tank is on empty. Instead of taking a round off where all he does is throw little "show" punches he just kept throwing haymakers. He was never able to get a second wind.

A lot of people are talking about the extra weight he was carrying and that it was the reason he was so gassed. It may have been a factor but I think it had more to do with how he came out in round 1. Think he got too hyped for the fight and wanted to show the world that this fight would be different. He expended a lot of energy with those snap jabs to the body.

Then getting tired is exponential. The more tired you are, the more tired things make you.

The video of wilders wife and family calling him a crackhead and fat at the weigh in changed my opinion of wilder and makes me want to believe everything his ex trainer mark Breland said about him and his camp! He said wilder constantly needs someone around him to tell him how great he is and that everyone around him we’re nothing but yes men riding a gravy train!! He said wilder is hard headed and arrogant and is never wrong!! Hmmmm anyway fury took those shots and got back up and resumed that punishment!! Wilder went to the hospital after the fight with a busted ear drum busted jaw and possible orbital bone damage!!wilder will never be the same physically or mentally!! I’m very impressed with Sanchez and Anderson who is a heavyweight Floyd mayweather those are your next generation champs!!

you are right, edaddy.....he wasn't much different in this fight as he was in the other 2. breland might have a point after all. if wilder came in and beat fury easily, then changing trainers was the answer. the weight gain didn't increase his power it appeared. fury just has one HELLUVA chin. thought MAYBE wilder would stay light (in weight) and try to outbox fury since knocking him out just plain doesn't work. fury is the better fighter. period. just give the champion his credit and go back to the drawing board.

Is there a possibility Wilder retires? Another fight with Fury won't happen so the best he can do ego-wise is beat someone that whips Fury and that is unlikely.

I’m telling you the only one he has a shot against is Joshua because Joshua won’t engage like fury!! Usyck will beat him and you might think I’m crazy but them two young heavyweights on the undercard Sanchez and Anderson would beat him!! I think wilder is an aged fighter he has no legs and can’t take a punch!! His stamina is off because he is 36 years old who has been in wars!! He will always have a punchers chance but he has slipped badly it’s hidden because fury is a great fighter but people forgetting Ortiz had him out the same way but got tired himself

it will be interesting to see where he goes from here...he went from beast who knocked everybody out to finding his kryptonite in fury. and fury even gave him high praise saying he is the second best heavyweight in the division. if i were wilder, take that high praise and run with it. so either joshua or maybe go after trevor bryan for the WBA title....

I don't know if money is Wilder's big motivation at this point. Usyk, Ruiz, and Joshua aren't going to rush to fight him for a non-title and the danger of being right-crossed. Who wants to see Wilder-Ortiz III? Dillian Whyte might consider himself the more deserving Brit to challenge Fury at Wembley.

Give Wilder ruiz jr - that would be cool and I want to see Fury fight both Usyk AND AJ.

After that all is right in the world and we can move on to the next generation lol

I think Wilder's power shouldn't be underestimated because an unearthly dude named T-Fury could shake most of it off. Being tired had nothing to do with Wilder-Ortiz 2.

Sanchez and Anderson are promising but I wouldn't bet any serious money against Wilder and I'd get some vey good odds.

Good point but I don't think Ruiz would take that fight and both of these guys' box offices' have taken a hit.

I was referencing wilder vs Ortiz 1 where Ortiz literally had him out on his feet once when the bell saved wilder!! And a second time where a fatigued old Ortiz simply could not follow up! Even then that second Ortiz fight wilder was getting thoroughly outboxed when he landed that shot and Ortiz isn’t known for his chin and is definently a old fighter!! He will always have a punchers chance but he no longer has the mobility or legs to get into that right hand consistently it’s being telegraphed now!! Second wilder has no legs and no head movement as well as drastically reduced reflexes Sanchez woud do the same thing to wilder as he just did to efe ogjaba he is young and quick enough to see the right hand and counter Anderson would simply out quick him and beat him with hand speed and power he is that good!!! I see all the signs of a diminished old fighter the locking of knees when they get hit the exaggerated head movement when they get hit the flat footed ness the loading up of punches and finally the stamina loss!! I would absolutely bet on any of the above against wilder he like Roy Jones will be shown just how diminished they are when they fight another fighter and get beat worse!!

It's hard for me to gauge his diminishment because Fury was such a step up in class from his previous opponents and the other in-between fight (Breazeale) was such a blow-away. I'll concede that the battering he took from Fury Saturday was the stuff that tragedies could be made out of and he certainly won't come out of this one in the plus column. We will know a little more his next fight.

I like Sanchez-why not fight Ortiz for the Cuban Heavyweight Championship?

but ruiz needs a big name and wilder fits the bill....and IF ruiz knocks out wilder, he is immediately in the title shot conversation again. and IF wilder knocks out ruiz, so is he.

Might be in the minority on this, but I would love to see AJ vs Wilder.
I think it has potential for fireworks and I do believe Wilder wins that fight. AJ doesn't have the skills Fury possesses and while he is likely to outbox Wilder for the majority of the fight, Wilder will eventually land that right hand. And I don't see AJ recovering from that right-hand the way Fury did.
