Hell EA offers a 10% discount on their game from launch and on all microtransactions if you pay $25 a year for EA Access. Also they allow companies like Best Buy to sell their games for around $35 after rebates and such.

Madden 17 sold for $35 3 weeks after release.

Mayweather and Tyson are probably too expensive for any Indy studio to get the rights to. And Conor is still under contract with the UFC and I don't see that changing any time soon. And I wouldn't be shocked at all if Conor retires from MMA he heads over to the WWE where can get a nice deal (where he works 20-25 dates per year and would make around $10M depending on how well his merch sells). Yea you can say names like Wilder, Joshua, GGG, etc. but those names aren't going to grab a casual fighting fans attention. And Pacquiao is iffy in that regard as well. It's nice to see that you can create depth because these boxers want to do it for free or relatively cheap, but if you don't have that #1 guy you are kinda screwed. Look at the UFC they lost Rousey and Conor last year and from what I have read, aholbert correct me if I'm wrong, but the company dipped a little bit last year into the beginning of this year or they only did slightly better than 2016.
It didnt but the only reason why is because the Conor/Mayweather fight sold a ton and saved the year for them.

Wow. You really want this to happen. So much that you ignore that Mayweather's value to a poker game is significantly less than than him being on the cover of a boxing game. So obviously he would accept significantly less for a poker game.

I'm sure you'll just ignore that just like you ignored actual facts when acting like the Victorious Boxers series was an actual financial success.

Victorious Boxer was a success for being on one system and not marketing. The company even says the series was a success at the time for them. The game was a international and national game. The numbers were not tallied together with the Japanese version

Actually the numbers were tallied together with the Japanese version. The Japanese version sold 380,000 copies of the game. The US version sold $50,000 (I was one of them).

All I ask is that you play it straight. We know you BADLY want a game company to make a boxing game. I think every boxing fan including myself would want that. What you shouldnt do is try to tailor the facts so that your argument is valid.

                Here are the facts:

                - There hasnt been a single boxing game that has been successful without a well known fighter on the cover. (Feel free to provide me with actual sales data to support that not simply the fact that you have talked to people who say they would buy one.)

                - Signing Floyd would be very expensive for any gaming company. His demands related to anything involving boxing is always going to be expensive. (Him signing a deal for a poker game isnt the same as a boxing game. His value is greatly increased in boxing).

                - Licensing costs in a boxing game could be expensive. Sure there are several mid-tier and maybe upper tier fighters who would allow their likeness to be used for cheap or zero. With that said, I doubt that someone like Canelo, GGG, Wilder, Joshua, Loma etc. would be willing to grant their likeness rights for cheap and those are the fighters needed to guarantee decent/ break even sales for an AAA boxing title.

You show more and more why I have up my job as a Senior Moderator on the EA forums and refused a position as a Game changer. Floyd didn't want more money until EA producers literally ask him to do it for free when they paid Pacquiao, Tyson, and Ali. They played with Mayweather ego. I not making this up to win a argument. You acting like I wasn't involved as moderator, on conference calls, going to events. I love asking questions and getting information.
Oh, and by the way I was just talking to my son who is 16 about this convetsation and he knows about the game. He says many of his friend do too. So something isn't adding up!

And this was when boxing was on fire!

Huh? Knows about the game? What game?

No one ever said that having a name guarantees a successful game. I said that not having a known cover boy means you wont sell. You are once again arguing a point no one is making again.

I hate to have to repeat this. Ive spoken to the same devs you have. I've likely asked the same questions you have. I've received those answers more recently than you have. Right now. Today. Floyd would demand a significant amount of money.

Maybe back in the day when you were a mod, Floyd was willing to be reasonable and accept an amount similar to Pac or the Ali estate or Tyson. Maybe EA low balled him back in the day and he now wont consider a reasonable offer. Thats all besides the point though.

If Floyd was willing to paid chump change to be in a combat sports game he would have been in the last 3 UFC games just like Tyson is.

It is the point and Floyd is being petty because EA. Many the players who became Fight Night fans were more word of mouth than who was on the cover. You keep trying to diminish my know about the Fight Night Community. I was there from day one when EA set up a forum for Knockout Kings. I was on the IGN forums push Knockout Kings and the Fight Night series. Alain Quinto pulled me in. I built a friendship with the producers. I still communicate with the producers behind the scene. I ask for advice and push my boxing videogame campaign.

You must've said something to the producers because I was going to screen shot a recent conversation we had. He deleted it.....

Here's one of my most recent post to him before I took it to his inbox or DMs.

I don't want put my other personal account conversations with Brizzo because it's personal. I'm trying say stop trying to make me ignorant to something you are assuming.

LOL. Come on man. I'm not talking to producers about convos we've had on OS about Fight Night. The fact is I've talked to devs about Fight Night the past 4 times I've been to Vancouver. So that means I had conversations last summer and 3 in 2016 about a potential game.

No one is downplaying your "know" about Fight Night. Nothing you say based on convos is really news though. Its known that certain producers in EA would love to do Fight Night again. They have said it publicly. They have said it to me and other people too.

Alot of your speculation is either biased (because you BADLY want an EA game) or just wrong based on actual facts.

I'm not biased here. One, there is a pretty good chance that there will be a 4th version of EA UFC no matter if a Fight Night is made or not. If a Fight Night game is made either EA Vancouver will do it, a new EA team will do it or Vancouver will delay EA UFC 4 a year or two.

None of those scenarios affect me negatively. I would love to see a new Fight Night. I would buy that game day 1. Two, I'm not even sure I'm going to be a GC after this version. I'm getting old and who knows if EA will want to refresh the team. Three, if I decided to stay on for UFC 4, a FN game doesnt affect me at all. If the a new team develops EA UFC, I go to their studio instead of Vancouver. If they decide to delay EA UFC 4, it just means I go to Vancouver in 2019 or 2020 instead of later this year.

We all want the same thing but it does the community no good to ignore the obvious hurdles there are to create a boxing game in 2018. Pointing those hurdles out isnt a bad thing. Pointing them out doesnt stop game companies from deciding to create a new boxing game.

I dont even know what point you are trying to make by posting a twitter exchange with Hayes. Everybody knows that Hayes would love to make another Fight Night. Thats not exactly inside information. He's said that publicly a number of times. He's said it to the UFC Gamechangers including myself.

Brizzo told me he wants to make another boxing game but he hopes another company tries to make one too because it would get EA motivated.(not in these exact words but this is what he said basically)

Here's the reason we never saw Floyd in a Fight Night game.

“You know I couldn’t go on [Fight Night] because, remember, before I do anything, I have to have some ownership.”

But yea Floyd would happily be in some Indy for a cheap price...
